We start off our 7 nights 8 days Wondrous Leh Ladakh Tour from the summer capital of Kashmir, Srinagar. At Srinagar, you can either choose to rest at your hotel or do some sightseeing and shopping at the local markets. You can shop for pashminas, carved wooden boxes, Kashmiri carpets and the world famous Kashmiri Saffron. Take in every bit of authentic Kashmiri cuisine when you stop by their famous eateries in the market.Kashmiri food is considered as the pinnacle of culinary excellence with their famous spices and rich colour.
Kargil is a town which lies in the Kargil district in the union territory of Ladakh. It is the second largest town in Ladakh after Leh and it lies at an elevation of 2,676mts. While in Kargil, visit Sonmarg and Baltal valley and also the Zoji La Pass, the highest mountain pass in the Kashmir valley. Other famous stopovers while going from Kargil to Leh are Nankila Peak, Fotu La, which is a mountain pass lying in Zanskar Range of the Himalayas at an elevation of 4,108mts. Lamayuru or Yuru Monastery is a Tibetan Buddhist Monastery at an elevation of 3,510mts. It holds the distinction of being the latest and the oldest monasteries in Ladakh with 150 monks residing here. According to legends, Lamayuru Valley was a lake filled with serpents. Arahat Madhyantika, a person responsible for spreading Buddhism made some offering to the Nagas here and with the crack of his walking stick, a hole was made and all the water was drained out. Since that incident, the place is considered holy and sacred.
Leh, the highest plateau in the Himalayas of India is a desert city, is the capital of northern India’s Ladakh UT(Union Territory). Originally a stop for trading caravans, Leh is now known for its Buddhist sites and nearby trekking areas. Massive 17th-century Leh Palace, modeled on the Dalai Lama’s former home (Tibet’s Potala Palace), overlooks the old town’s bazaar and mazelike lanes.
Being the northernmost part of the country it extends from the Himalayas to Kunlun Ranges and also includes the upper Indus River valley. Ladakh region is divided into two districts, Leh and Kargil. Ladakh is a sparsely populated region but is dominated by people following Buddhism and Islam.
The word Ladakh means Land of High Passes. It is also called the Moon-Land and the Cold Desert because of its barren topography and extreme temperature during the night and in winters.

Itinerary (Srinagar to Leh)
1st Day : Srinagar arrival
Pick up from Srinagar airport, transfer to hotel. Have some rest and start local sightseeing of Srinagar City. Visit: - Mughal gardens: - Chesma Shahi, The Garden of Bliss - Nushat, The Abode of Love - Shalimar. In the evening, back to your hotel for dinner and Overnight stay at Srinagar hotel.
Note: We can add shikara ride in Dal lake on your request.
2nd Day : Srinagar to Kargil
After breakfast head towards Kargil, it will take 7 hours. On your way, you’ll visit Sonmarg and Baltal Valley. The valley lies at the foot of Zoji La – the high mountain pass in the Himalayas of Kashmir.
Next stop will be the famous Kargil War Memorial. In evening, you’ll enter Kargil where you will check into your hotel room. Have dinner and night stay in Kargil Hotel .
3rd Day : Kargil to Leh
After having your breakfast, you’ll drive to Leh which will take approximately 6 hours
on the way cross charming stopovers such as Nankila Peak, Fotu La, ancient Lamayuru monastery and Alchi before finally reaching Leh. Have your dinner after checking into your hotel and overnight stay in your Leh hotel.
4th Day : Leh City Tour
Start towards Sham Valley in the morning after Breakfast- visiting Hall of fame, Spituk Monastery, the confluence of Indus & Zanskar River (Sangam), Gurudwara Sri Pathar Sahib, Magnetic Hill. Visit Shanti Stupa later in the evening. Return to Leh by evening for dinner. Overnight stay in your hotel.

5th Day : Leh to Nubra Transfer
After Breakfast, we travel towards one of the Highest Motorable Road of The World, KhardungLa Pass. Have a cup of Tea there, get yourself clicked with the Khardungla Signboard by BRO & proceed towards Nubra valley covering Deskit Monastery enroute.
Check-in at Hotel/Camp, freshen up & later you can have a Double Hump Bactarian Camel ride. Don't forget to click this unique mammal, found in the cold Desert. It was once used to carry the trade material on the silk route.
After dinner, Overnight at Hunder/Nubra Camps/Hotel.
6th Day : Nubra to Pangong (250 kms)
After Breakfast, check out from the camps & visit Diskit Monastery. If time permits you can also go for ATV ride (personal expense) and then continue further till Pangong via Shyok Valley
Pangong Lake is one of the most beautiful & scenic high altitude saltwater lakes. The beauty of this place is such that various Bollywood movies have been shot around this lake. Another fact about the lake is that one-third of this lake is controlled by India & rest two-third lies under Chinese province. Check In to the campsite and later go for a stroll around Pangong Lake in the evening.
Have dinner and Overnight at Camps in Pangong.
7th Day : Pangong Lake to Leh (225 kms, 7 hrs of drive)
After Breakfast, check out from Camps for the return journey to Leh. Enroute take a short halt at Changla Pass and visit Hemis Monastery & 3-Idiots School.
Return to Leh in the evening.

8th Day : Departure from Leh - Airport Drop
After early Breakfast, checkout from Hotel & get transferred to Airport for onward flight back home.
