You may have already seen the photos of extensive lands surrounded by snow-capped peaks and the beauty of Leh-Ladakh over the internet. But, nothing compares to an 8-day long tour where you can experience Leh-Ladakh from every possible angle.
Firstly we’ll get acquainted with the local people and culture of Leh-Ladakh. The people here are generally nice and always smile at you while passing by as a good gesture.
Mixing with the locals and getting to know them is one of the most important things to do during a trip. And we’ll start from there as well, by mixing with locals of Leh-Ladakh and maybe having a cup of the famous butter tea with them as well.
Sightseeing around Leh would make up for a pleasant evening and while we’ll be at it, we’ll visit the popular Shey Palace and Thiksey Monastery. Along with that, how can we miss the gravity-defying Magnetic Hills which is one of the most famous places to visit in Leh-Ladakh
Also, Leh-Ladakh is full of places that are historically important such as the Hall of Fame, a museum initiated by the Indian Army as well as the Shanti Stupa.
And on top of that, we’d pass by the confluence of River Indus and River Zaskar. Where you can take your camera out and get a shot of the unimaginably beautiful mixing of both water which is a sight in itself.
The journey from Leh to the Nubra Valley takes you through the Khardung La Pass. We will have a short stopover to have some tea and to click pictures. Also, Deskit Monastery falls in the route, and well! You know that there’s no way we’ll move forward without having a look at the monastery.
Now, You may have already seen Pangong Tso in several Bollywood films, including that 3 Idiots. We share the majority of the spectacular lake with China. Enjoy staying in camps near the same lake and dancing around the bonfire under the starlight sky is something we’re going to do while the Leh-Ladakh trip.
Throwing in one interesting fact about Leh-Ladakh, Hemis Monastery sits at a height of 12,000 ft. above sea level. It is also the largest monastery in Ladakh. Also, The Hemis Festival which takes place at the monastery is wildly popular among the locals and tourists. If you’re coming in the month of June, then you should not miss the festival at any chance.
