Had an amazing experience with JustWravel on the Kheerganga–Kasol–Manali trip! The trek was definitely a bit challenging, but our captain Junaid kept us motivated throughout — his energy and encouragement made all the difference. He also shared some really interesting stories about the trek and the history of Kasol, which made the journey even more memorable. The Kasol sightseeing was super fun, and he made sure everyone had a great time. The views, the vibes, and the whole group experience were just awesome. Would definitely love to travel again with this team! 🌄✨

My recent trip to the mountains was an incredible experience, and I’d like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the JustWravel team, especially our trek guide, Tabish. His expertise and calm demeanor were instrumental in helping me adapt to the high altitudes. Tabish ensured that every participant was safe, well-fed, and properly hydrated. He paid close attention to even the smallest details, which is crucial in such challenging environments where minor issues can quickly escalate. I also want to acknowledge Arvind, who was very supportive when I needed assistance during our stay at Chandratal. At around 2:30 AM, I was facing some difficulty, and both Tabish and Arvind responded promptly and with great care. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the trip. Tabish’s in-depth knowledge of the region added immense value to the journey, as he provided detailed insights about each place we visited. Thank you, Tabish, Arvind, and the entire JustWravel team, for making this adventure both safe and memorable!

Valley of Flowers and Hemkund Sahib Trek - a Dream made real with JustWravel I recently completed my first trek to Valley of Flowers and Hemkund Sahib with JustWravel, and it was an amazing experience! The trek was managed beautifully with everything well-organized and on time. A big shoutout to our trek leaders, Rahul and Vijay, who ensured our safety, motivated us throughout, and even went out of their way to support another group during an incident. Their humility, punctuality, and leadership made the journey truly memorable. Special mention to the cook at Ghangaria for serving delicious meals after our tiring treks. The group members were equally wonderful, making it a complete experience. Thank you JustWravel – looking forward to many more treks with you!

An Unforgettable Experience Made Even More Special by Our Trek Leader and Cooks My trek to Hampta Pass was nothing short of magical—but what truly made it unforgettable was the team that supported us every step of the way. Our trek leaders Vijay Rathi and Ajay Thakur were absolute rockstars—patient, passionate, and endlessly encouraging. Whether it was keeping the morale high on steep climbs or ensuring everyone felt safe and supported during river crossings, their leadership was calm, confident, and inspiring. They knew the terrain pretty well, shared fascinating stories of the region, and handled every situation—from unpredictable weather to altitude issues with expertise. You could tell they genuinely cared about each trekker’s experience. And the cooks—they were the hidden heroes of this journey! Who knew you could be served hot, delicious, soul-warming meals at such high altitudes? Every meal felt nourishing, comforting, and made with love. After a long day of trekking, that warm plate of food tasted like pure magic. The hygiene, and the effort they put in—especially in such challenging conditions—was incredible. This team didn’t just help us trek a mountain—they created an atmosphere that felt like family. Their energy, kindness, and dedication made this journey feel deeply personal and memorable. To the trek leaders and the amazing kitchen crew—thank you for taking care of us so wholeheartedly. You’ve given us not just a trek, but a memory that will last a lifetime. 🙌🏔️💚

A big highlight of the trek was our trek leader, Vijay Rathee—one of the best trek leaders I’ve come across. His calm nature, deep knowledge, and ability to motivate and guide every participant—regardless of their experience level—was truly commendable. The food throughout the trek was really good, and the supporting staff was extremely helpful and kind.

Description

Himalyan Treks

The Himalayas are one of the most majestic mountain ranges of the world. Spanning over 2,400 kilometers, the range consists of some of the highest peaks in the world, including Mount Everest, Kanchenjunga, and Nanda Devi. The Himalayas are where the air is pure, and the spirit is free. And the numerous trekking trails are a gateway to a new destiny. It is a transformative experience that helps a person in reconnecting with nature, finding inner peace, building mental and physical endurance, and developing a sense of humility and gratitude. It is an opportunity to explore oneself and the world around, to break free from the mundane and embrace the extraordinary.

At its core, trekking in India is about pushing your limits and discovering nature in its rawest form. Did that line make you think about snow-capped peaks, alpine meadows, and starry skies? That’s exactly what trekking is,  a journey that tests your strength while rewarding you with experiences that stay forever.

When you go on a trek with JustWravel, you’re not just walking through mountain trails, you’re stepping into a new version of yourself — stronger, braver, and more alive. Trekking is freedom in the purest sense: the freedom to disconnect from the noise, to breathe fresh air, and to surround yourself with people who share the same passion for adventure.

Unlike luxury tours where comfort comes first, treks in India are all about endurance, minimalism, and connection with nature. You carry your essentials, walk miles through diverse terrains, and discover places that no vehicle can take you. With over 50+ treks across India, JustWravel brings you curated experiences for beginners as well as seasoned trekkers.

A trek is:

• Walking through forests, meadows, rivers, and high-altitude passes.

• Choosing simplicity over luxury and finding joy in the journey.

• Experiencing the culture of mountain villages and their warm hospitality.

• Witnessing sunrises, snow peaks, and starry skies that words can’t define. Traveling with a community of like-minded trekkers who become family.

And the best part? Trekking is inclusive! Whether you are chasing the alpine meadows of Uttarakhand, walking on the frozen Zanskar river in Ladakh, standing under the rhododendron bloom in Sikkim, or climbing to the monasteries of Arunachal, each trek adds a new chapter to YOUR story.

How To Camp Sustainably

• Pitch tents on durable surfaces, avoiding delicate ecosystems like riverbanks.

• Thoroughly clean the campsite before leaving to maintain the natural environment.

• Opt for reusable water bottles and eco-friendly snacks, avoiding single-use plastics.

• Steer clear of non-biodegradable items like wet wipes and choose sustainable alternatives.

• Refrain from building bonfires to coexist peacefully with wildlife.

• Prefer running campsites over fixed ones to minimize impact on soil and vegetation.

Use of Dry Pit

While on a trek, this must be a very concerning question, and the solution is Dry Pits.

Additionally, we advise against using water as it hinders the decomposition process of fecal matter in our dry toilet system and retains odors. Instead, a suggested alternative is to sprinkle a few drops of water on a dry tissue and utilize that for cleaning purposes.

Waste Management During Your Trek

• Carry Out What You Carry In: Always pack out all your waste, including food wrappers, bottles, tissues, and sanitary items. Never leave anything behind.

• Use Toilet Tents and Dig Pits: Bury human waste in deep pits (6+ inches) to prevent contamination. Dispose of toilet paper and sanitary waste in your trash bag.

• Manage Food Waste Carefully: Bury leftover food and peels away from water sources. Avoid feeding wildlife to prevent dependency.

• Dispose of Waste Properly: Carry out all waste and dispose of it responsibly at designated collection points or in towns. Avoid burning waste.

• Avoid Polluting Water Sources: Wash dishes, clothes, and yourself away from streams and lakes. Use biodegradable soap sparingly.

• Educate Yourself and Others: Learn local waste management practices and follow them. Teach fellow trekkers and porters about responsible disposal.

How To Effectively Manage Your Periods While Trekking

Plan ahead and pack enough eco-friendly menstrual products like cups or reusable pads for the entire trek. Pain relief medication can help with cramps and discomfort. Manage heavy bleeding with menstrual cups, and properly dispose of sanitary waste in a separate bag or by burying it. Carry a bottle for intimate hygiene, and use dry shampoo and a washcloth to stay clean without bathing.

How to prepare your First Aid Kit

• Medication for altitude sickness (Diamox, dexamethasone, acetazolamide, Nifedipine)

• Pain-relieving agents (paracetamol, metamizole, ketoprofen)

• Antibiotics (amoxicillin + clavulonian acid, metronidazole, azithromycin)

• Anti-diarrheal medicine (loperamide)

• Remedy for dry cough (codeine, dextromethorphan)

• Countermeasure for snow blindness (moisturizing eye drops, antibiotic eye drop)

• Solution for frostbite (aspirin)

Altitude Sickness

Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS), High Altitude Pulmonary Edema (HAPE), and High Altitude Cerebral Edema (HACE) are three distinct conditions that can occur when ascending to high altitudes too quickly.

Trekking Etiquette

1. Follow Leave No Trace principles: Minimize waste, respect wildlife, and camp responsibly.

2. Respect local cultures and traditions: Dress modestly in religious areas and greet villagers respectfully.

3. Practice trail courtesy: Yield to uphill trekkers and walk single file on narrow paths.
