--------

Beas Kund has always been a popular and famous option amongst trekkers in Manali. This is no doubt, due to the fact that it takes you right to the base of the river that flows throughout the town.

The holy lake is the source of River Beas.In fact, you’ll witness the very same river while entering Manali. The high altitude alpine lake is located at an altitude of 3,700 meters.

Another reason trekkers love this opportunity is the setting. I mean, who would want to miss out on lush, green grasslands and an emerald lake?

The grasslands are right below the summits of the biggest mountains around the town.

The Beas Kund Trip will allow you to lazily watch goats grazing and pluck mushrooms and strawberries along your way.

The beauty of the place increases due to the contrast between the water body and the jagged peaks of the mountains of the Pir Panjal range.

The emerald kund breaks off or branches off into smaller streams and tumbling waterfalls. These converge into the raging Beas river.

The itinerary of the Beas Kund Trek begins at a popular destination for skiing and paragliding - Manali. After this, the scenic meadows of Bakarthach and Dhundi will be a part of the trail.

Along with this, famous places to visit in the Beas Kund Trek are Friendship Peak, Seven Sisters, Shitidhar, and Hanuman Tibba. These peaks will accompany you on the trek.

As you advance towards Beas Kund, you’ll also get the chance to encounter the Beas Kund Glacier.

The history of Beas Kund is associated with a legend. It is said that the man who wrote the Mahabharata, Rishi Vyas, took daily baths in this lake.

Due to this, it is possible that the name has been derived from Vyas (the sage) and Kund (a lake).

A feature that draws everyone in is the combination of snowy mountains above and green grasslands below.

Due to its short duration and easy difficulty level, this trek is possible for beginners as well. This is why tourism of Beas Kund has been growing popular recently.

Despite this, preparation is advised for anyone planning to join this trek. The climb from 8,000 ft to 12,000 ft is no easy task.
