Jibhi Road Trip - Tirthan Valley Weekend Trip
Don’t you feel like running away from the stressful city and look for a place of seclusion amongst hills and meadows? Well, the place that you might be looking for is Jibhi.
Jibhi is situated in the state of Himachal Pradesh in the Banjar Valley.
It’s a scenic and old village that has settled on the banks of the Tirthan river. This gurgling river is a tributary of the Beas river. It serves as an integral part of the culture of Jibhi.
Constructed in an old Himalayan way, the architecture of the place vouches for itself. Most of the houses are built from stone and wood.
Galgal trees and apple orchards decorate every backyard in the Himalayan village. This destination has become extremely popular among travelers in recent years.
However, foreign tourists discovered this gem of a place more than two decades ago. Of course, during that time, there was hardly any infrastructure to boost tourism in the place.
On the same note, the village is still not completely commercialized as the only accommodation you’ll find are homestays that are run by locals.
The itinerary for the Jibhi Road Trip includes Serolsar Lake Trek. It’s a convenient trek from the Jalori Pass and is surrounded by thick forests.
Some famous places to visit in Jibhi are Cheni Kothi and Shringa Rishi Temple.
The Cheni village is only 7 kilometers away from Jibhi and the majority of the distance can be covered by cars. The road comes to an end almost 1 km away from the Chehni tower.
While exploring this place, you’ll pass the Shringa Rishi temple that lies below Cheni at Bagi village. This village is built in a similar manner to that of the Cheni fort.
However, it’s been renovated recently. Shringa Rishi is the deity of the Banjar valley.
The Cheni Kothi has also been built in an ancient Himalayan architectural style. This is a watch-tower for the neighboring Cheni village.
An interesting fact about Jibhi is that this structure has been withstanding environmental factors for more than 3 centuries. Only in the earthquake of 1905 did it lose the upper two stories.
This fort is included in the itinerary for the Jibhi Road Trip as well.
Another famous place to visit is the Sheshnag Temple. Within Jibhi, a short trail will lead you to the Sheshnag Temple. This is situated right in the middle of a beautiful and lush meadow.
Just like Shringa Rishi, Sheshnag is another presiding deity of the Banjar valley. Both enjoy their devotees’ following and worship.
The wooden architecture seems to be ancient. In fact, it’s claimed by Hansraj that the temple is more than 500 years old. However, the actual age is still unknown.
Thus, the history of Jibhi is quite mysterious and alluring.
Spending time in the peaceful, green meadows will be sure to calm your senses and make your worries disappear.
When is the best time to visit Jibhi? Well, the village is definitely quiet and relaxed almost all throughout the year, making for an amazing road trip either way.
However, the spring season is a refreshing time where apple orchards bloom in the valley. Thus, March to May would be one of the best months to visit the wonderful and beautiful destination as the weather in Jibhi is pleasant.
The reasons you need to check the Jibhi Road Trip in 2020 are far more than many. But, if you still have doubts then let us clear them up while you are on the Jibhi Road Trip with JustWravel.

Things To Know
Jibhi road trip is an adventure that you need to hop on and explore the Jibhi, which is a small village in Kullu hidden from the outside world and having an experience of its own.
Jibhi was unknown to the tourist dictionaries until a few foreign travelers started coming here in this unexplored valley again and again. The Jibhi valley became famous among travelers but is still a low-key destination for many are still unaware of its existence.
Jibhi is famous for its serene landscape and hidden beauty while that’s not just all. There are various places to visit in Jibhi like the whole Tirthaan valley, Cheni Fort, Jalori pass, and a breathtaking trek of Sirolsar Lake.
The best time to visit Jibhi is from March to May and from December to February, the first set of the month is the peak season for visiting Jibhi and the second set of months is the shoulder season which also makes up for a preferable visit.
A short drive from picturesque Jalori Pass, Jibhi is a good base for hiking, birding, relaxing, and enjoying the outdoors.
Usually, we take a maximum of 12-15 people in one group. We believe bigger groups have less fun and less coordination so that’s why we prefer smaller groups.
All our treks are led by professional trek leaders who are certified, mountaineers. Apart from them, there will be one local guide, cook, helper, porters, and other staff.
All our trips are led by professional trip coordinators who have good experience in leading groups.
Yes definitely it is, the safety of girls is most important for us. All our guides and other staff are carefully chosen for trips/treks. They are honest and reliable but we also advise you to take care of your personal belongings.
Once you confirm the trip/trek and done with the booking, we will send you the packing list according to the trip/trek.
We hire taxis such as Innova, Tempo Traveller, etc. from our vendors.
We always recommend that you carry your rucksack during the trek because it helps in maintaining your body posture. In case if you cannot, then we can provide you a mule/porter to carry your rucksack. You will have to tell us at least 1 week before the trek. The charges for offloading would be INR 300 per person per day.
Shoes are your lifeline on the trek. It is highly advisable to buy trekking shoes of a good and known brand. You can consider companies like Quechua, Columbia, etc. Waterproof shoes with ankle support will work well.
We will be staying in a Homestay or Hotel.
It totally depends on group dynamics. If there is a couple, we can give them a separate tent or if there are an odd number of people, then there would be triple sharing.
After selecting the trip, you can book by clicking on the book now button or you can contact us and we will guide you in the booking.
We provide nutritious and healthy food during the treks. We always serve Indian vegetarian food and eggs.
Himalayan water is considered the purest water and safe to drink. But for safety purposes, we sometimes boil the water and then use it for drinking and cooking.
In case you find any clean water on the trek, always fill your water where the water is running not where the water is stable or is in rest.
Yes, you can give suggestions. We will look into that and if we find it feasible then we will apply it.
Yes, we can customize any trip as per your needs and as per the feasibility.
No, but our trek leaders are certified in the Wildlife First Aid course and they always carry a first aid kit and oxygen cylinders on high altitude treks.
Yes, it is advisable that you carry your own medication on the trek.
Well, it totally depends from person to person. Usually, there are no side effects of Diamox but if you are having any prior medical conditions then it is better to consult your doctor.
Our itinerary is designed in a way that we take sufficient time to get acclimatized. In case if you are having a problem on the trek then tell your trek leader about your condition as soon as possible.
It depends on the difficulty level of the trek. The minimum age for eligibility is 14 years.
If it starts raining slowly while trekking then we will continue our trek as per the plan. Your poncho will keep you dry. In case if it is raining heavily then we will try to find any shelter and wait for the rain to stop or slow. If it rains at the campsite then there would not be any problem because all our living tents, kitchen tents, and toilet tents are waterproof. You will stay dry inside.
Differs from person to person. If you think that it would help you maintaining balance while trekking then does bring the pole. Some people think that the trekking pole disturbs the walking rhythm. So it’s up to you.
