Elevated at 12,500 ft, Kedarkantha is one of the majestic peaks of the great Himalayan range and a perfect destination for your Christmas and New Year adventure. This popular winter trek captivates hikers and trekkers from all over the country, making it suitable for both beginners and experts. This 4-night, 5-day trek is designed for those who cherish the serenity and excitement of nature, with its unpredictable trails and mystical valleys. Known for spectacular views of snow-capped mountains, the summit reveals ranges such as Black Peak, Swargarohini, Gangotri, and Yamunotri.
The name "Kedarkantha" translates to “The throat of Lord Shiva,” and its local myths and folklores enhance its charm, enriching your trekking experience. Our journey begins from Dehradun to the quaint village of Sankri, the base camp for this 20 km trek. After a night in our designated homestay or hotel, we’ll introduce ourselves and share stories before settling in for the night.
The next day starts with a briefing from our trek leader, followed by our first leg to Juda ka Taal. Here, we’ll enjoy a leisurely day at the campsite, savoring festive meals while soaking in the breathtaking views of the Swargarohini mountains. The following morning, we trek to the Kedarkantha base camp, located at 11,200 ft above sea level. After a hot lunch and some fun activities like snowball fights, we’ll prepare for an overnight stay at the base camp. The highlight of this Christmas and New Year trek is the early morning ascent to the Kedarkantha summit. Witnessing the sunrise after reaching the top is truly magical; it makes every ounce of exhaustion worthwhile, leaving you at peace.
What sets the Kedarkantha trek apart is its classification as a moderately difficult trek, making it accessible for beginners while rewarding all with mesmerizing 360-degree views of the great Himalayan ranges. The coldest spot along the route is Juda Ka Taal, where the lake freezes in winter, reflecting sunlight like diamonds and creating a golden illumination. The path is lined with picturesque views, and while snowfall can occur, it's a delightful surprise dependent on the weather. Trekkers often find themselves returning, drawn not just by the summit, but also by the local culture and cuisine. Accommodation: 1 Night in a Hotel / Homestay on a triple/quad sharing basis and 3 Nights accommodation in a tent on a triple sharing basis. Transportation: Surface transfer from Dehradun - Sankri - Dehradun by Sumo / Bolero / Tempo Traveler ( Depends on the number of travelers). Meals: All Meals from (Day 1 Dinner to Day 5 Lunch) are included. We provide simple nutritious vegetarian food on all days of the trek. Snacks: Morning / Evening Tea / Coffee with light snacks and soup while on the trek. Camping logistics: Trekking tent, Sleeping bags, Mattresses, Dining tent, Kithen tent and Toilet tent. Female Trek Leader Qualified and Experienced Female Trek leader and support staff. Permits: All necessary fees and permits.(For Indians) Trekking Equipment: Gaiters, Micro Spikes, and Rope if required. Safety Equipment: Walkie / Talkie , Basic First Aid kit with Oximeter, Blood Pressure Monitor and Oxygen Cylinder. Guide ratio: Local experience guide ( depends on the group size). Others : Clock Room facility available at base camp for extra luggage. | Any expenses of personal nature. Meals during transit. Insurance of any kind. Unscheduled delay due to landslide. Credit Note :
The Booking Amount will be credited to your JW Profile which can be accessed by logging in to the website through your Phone Number & OTP. Credit Notes issued have no date of expiry and can be used entirely in any of your future trips.
GST :
Any GST charged on any transaction will not be refunded.
Pending Refund :
Any refund pending on your booking will be credited to the same mode of payment through which you paid in 5-7 working days.
Partial Refund :
Any case in which a partial refund will be issued will be calculated after deducting the Booking Amount and Cancellation Charges depending on the time of Cancellation.
Remaining Amount :
Will be calculated on the amount paid over and above the booking amount.
Bypass Policy :
Any and all Cancellation Policies are superseded by the Emergency Case Cancellation Policy in case of situations such as war, pandemics, force majeure, or similar extraordinary events affecting the tour region.

Had an amazing experience while doing the Sar Pass trek solely because our trek leader Vishal was an amazing human being who understood the team we'll adapted to our capabilities. Some of us were slow, but that was never a problem for him, he just continued being his cheerful self and encouraged us to move on. Vishal also displayed proper planning and leadership skill.
The trek was breathtaking in itself although slightly challenging so I wouldn't recommend it for beginners. I would grade it as moderate coz of the steepness of it at certain places.
