“A trip of a lifetime❤️!! This was my first group trip and road trip to Spiti valley which was excellent. All strangers become close friends by the end of the trip and all of us feel like going on another trip with the same group. The stay was very comfortable and clean, beautiful peaceful locations with perfect mountains and sunrise view. All the sight seeing and activities like trekking, hiking were really good. Special thanks to Captain Divya❤️. She gave her best efforts in the entire journey to make it more enjoyable and memorable. We really had a good time with you. Such a kind and humble captain we had with Great responsibility. The best captain I can say. Overall I would say I would come again on another trip with Justwravel. “I recently went to Winter Spiti Valley trip with JustWravel which ended up being more as a trip with best friends. JustWravel had everything sorted for us be it transportation, safety, constant checkups, personalised care , accommodation, food and everything was super comfortable and amazing. Then it comes to the best part of this trip our trip captains - Abhishek and Ramneek He treated us like their own brother from day one and made sure all of us are having the time of our lives. They had constant checkups to ensure all of us are doing great physically. They had good knowledge about the place and shared the same with us as well. I would surely plan my next trip with JustWravel. I would like to mention an instance: I forgot my bag in the Volvo bus and there was nothing important in that bag but our captains still went out of their way to ensure that I got my bag safely.”

Overview

Ladakh has always been a land people dream about long before they plan it. A place defined by distance, altitude, and silence. Roads that test patience. Landscapes that reward it. This Delhi to Srinagar Leh–Ladakh full-circuit bike trip is crafted for travelers who want to experience Ladakh in its entirety; starting from the plains, climbing through the Himalayas, riding across the world’s highest motorable roads, and returning through history-rich valleys and mountain passes.

This is not a shortcut itinerary. It is a complete circuit that allows Ladakh to unfold gradually. From lively mountain towns to high-altitude deserts, from bustling highways to remote villages where the sky dominates everything, this journey captures the true spirit of Ladakh road travel.

The adventure begins in Delhi. As the group assembles in the evening, excitement quietly builds. Introductions follow. Tour briefing sets expectations for the days ahead. By night, the journey toward Manali begins. The overnight drive marks the first step away from routine and into the mountains.

Arrival in Manali feels like a gentle transition. The town is vibrant yet relaxed. After check-in, the day is kept at ease. Travelers can explore local cafés, walk through markets, or simply rest before the demanding road journey ahead. Manali offers a comfortable pause before the terrain begins to change dramatically.

The real ascent into the Himalayas begins as the journey moves from Manali to Sarchu. Passing through the iconic Atal Tunnel, the landscape shifts quickly. Lush valleys give way to stark mountain terrain. The route winds through places like Sissu Valley, Keylong, Jispa, and Darcha, each marking a gradual rise in altitude. Stops at Deepak Tal, Zing Zing Bar, and Suraj Tal add to the visual drama of the day. Baralacha La stands tall along the route, marking one of the most memorable high-altitude crossings on the Manali–Leh highway. Nights in Sarchu are about acclimatization, rest, and quiet conversations under a vast sky.

From Sarchu, the journey continues toward Leh, and the scale of Ladakh truly begins to reveal itself. This stretch is known for its dramatic road conditions and remarkable landscapes. The Gata Loops challenge riders with 21 sharp hairpin bends, testing both skill and endurance. High-altitude passes like Nakee La, Lachung La, and Tanglang La rise one after another, each offering expansive views of barren mountains and endless roads. The More Plains follow, a vast 40-kilometer stretch that feels almost unreal in its openness. Passing through Pang and Upshi, the road gradually leads into Leh. The evening is calm, allowing time to rest and acclimatize.

Leh forms the cultural and geographical heart of Ladakh. Surrounded by mountains and steeped in history, the town carries a rhythm of its own. The following day begins with a visit to Shanti Stupa, where the white dome overlooks the valley below. The panoramic views offer perspective on how far the journey has already come. From here, the route turns toward Nubra Valley, crossing Khardung La; one of the highest motorable roads in the world. The ascent is steep, the air thin, and the views breathtaking. Beyond the pass, Nubra Valley opens up into wide expanses marked by sand dunes and distant mountains. At Hunder, travelers can experience double-humped Bactrian camel rides or ATV adventures, adding a touch of thrill to the day. Nights in Nubra are quiet and cold, spent under open skies.

Leaving Nubra, the road leads toward Pangong Tso, with a visit to Diskit Monastery along the way. The monastery, known for its towering 106 feet tall Maitreya Buddha statue, offers a moment of calm before the journey continues. Pangong Lake appears slowly, stretching endlessly across the horizon. Known for its changing shades of blue, the lake feels surreal. Evenings here are about stillness. With no electricity, nights at Pangong are lit only by stars, creating an atmosphere that feels far removed from the modern world.

From Pangong, the journey moves deeper into remote Ladakh through Changthang Valley. This region is vast and largely untouched, known for its sweeping landscapes and rare wildlife. The road passes through settlements like Chushul, Tsaga Village, and Loma, where life moves at a slower pace. The destination is Hanle, one of Ladakh’s highest villages, located along the Old Silk Route. Hanle is known for its astronomical observatory and exceptionally clear night skies. Evenings here are quiet, marked by rest and stargazing.

One of the most defining days of the trip is the excursion to Umling La. Rising to an altitude of 19,024 feet, it is the highest motorable pass in the world. The climb is demanding, the terrain barren, and every turn feels intense. Reaching the summit is a moment of awe, where vast mountain ranges stretch endlessly in every direction. Returning to Hanle, the night once again belongs to the stars. Clear skies, shooting stars, and the Milky Way create memories that linger long after the journey ends.

The route then leads back toward Leh via Chumathang Village. Known for its natural hot springs, Chumathang offers a unique sight amidst the rugged terrain. En route, visits to Shey Palace and Thiksey Monastery provide insight into Ladakhi heritage, art, and spiritual traditions. Back in Leh, travelers can explore local markets, cafés, and shop for souvenirs. The town feels familiar now, no longer overwhelming, but welcoming.

The journey continues from Leh to Kargil. This stretch blends natural beauty with cultural and historical significance. Stops at Sangam, where the Indus and Zanskar rivers meet, offer striking visuals. Magnetic Hill adds a curious pause, followed by a visit to Gurudwara Patthar Sahib. Passing through the Lamayuru Hills and Fotu La, the road continues toward Namika La, one of the key passes between Leh and Kargil. Arrival in Kargil brings a sense of transition, moving closer to the Kashmir region.

From Kargil, the road heads toward Srinagar via Dras and Sonmarg. Dras, known as the Gateway to Ladakh, carries a stark beauty and harsh climate. A visit to the Kargil War Memorial adds depth and reflection to the journey. Zojila Pass marks the final high-altitude crossing before descending into Kashmir. The landscape softens. Green valleys replace barren mountains. Arrival in Srinagar feels like a gentle landing after days of rugged terrain.

The journey concludes where it began, on the calm waters of Dal Lake. A final night on a houseboat allows time to reflect, share stories, and absorb the magnitude of what has been experienced. The next morning, the group disperses, carrying memories shaped by long roads, shared challenges, and unforgettable landscapes.

This Leh–Ladakh bike trip itinerary is not about rushing from one attraction to another. It is about experiencing Ladakh as a whole. From Manali to Sarchu, Leh to Nubra, Pangong to Hanle, Umling La to Kargil, and finally Srinagar, the circuit connects geography, culture, and history into one continuous journey.

For those seeking a complete Ladakh road trip, this itinerary offers depth, scale, and authenticity. A journey that challenges you, grounds you, and stays with you long after the roads fade from view.

Situated at an altitude of approximately 3,001 meters above sea level, Ladakh feels otherworldly with its towering peaks, deep valleys, ancient monasteries, and alpine lakes.

A trip of a lifetime❤️!! Thankyou to the entire team specially Divya and Nishant. Thanks for lots of good memories @justwravel.

I recently went to Winter Spiti Valley trip with JustWravel which ended up being more as a trip with best friends. I would like to mention an instance: I forgot my bag in the Volvo bus and there was nothing important in that bag but our captains still went out of their way to ensure that I got my bag safely.

Just got back 😁,from ,a week long,20-26 th January , all girls tour package of Manali -kasol-jibhi, headed by geetanjali and Divya ...,as travel coordinators....the trip was truly enjoyable and very memorable, especially ,for me ,as the youngest girl,at 56years,in a group of 16 girls (20 year olds)....the team leader , geetanjali and second in command,Divya are very capable, sporty and encouraging type...they make an excellent combination and have good leadership quality..,will go ,great places in the near future....they are capable of tackling unforseen circumstances in a spirited manner,...also ,not to be forgotten , to complement ,the driving skills of Mr.Mani bhaiya, who navigated the difficult terrain and unpredictable weather conditions, very well.

Thank you JustWravel for giving me one of my best first group-trip experience - All-Girls Spiti Valley trip! I was a bit nervous before the trip began, but within no time, I realised that this was the best decision I took for myself. Saurav was a really friendly and easy-going trip leader and Mani Bhai was the sweetest local guide ever, who drove us around and also developed such a lovely bond with us. Both of them took great care of the group. Felt like family! ?? Lovely stay and food arrangements - never faced an issue even once. Most memorable trip! Thankyou!
