Is Bali and Thailand still your go-to whenever you plan an international trip? Then it is time to level up. There is a destination out there that has the calm of Maldivian beaches, spirituality that will feel oddly close to home, and a colonial charm. This country is Mauritius.
And through this 5-Day Mauritius Honeymoon Package from India, we take you through the best of what this island has to offer like sacred crater lakes, coloured volcanic earth, pristine island beaches, and evenings that feel like they were made for two. If you are a honeymooner, you are going to like this the most, because every destination on this itinerary has been picked with couples in mind.
So read till the end, go through the itinerary, and get ready to fall for the unusual but genuinely beautiful energy of Mauritius.
The trip starts the moment you land at Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport. Our representative will be there to greet you and transfer you to The InterContinental Resort, Mauritius. If you are traveling on a direct flight from India, transfers are provided on an SIC basis( a more pocket-friendly option).
Reach the hotel, rest, and unwind. The rest of the day is yours to do as you please. Step out and explore the local market, or try the Bol Renversé, one of the most popular dishes in Mauritius and a great introduction to the local food scene. Or simply relax by the pool, watch the sunset with your loved one, and save your energy for what is coming next.
The following morning, get ready for the North Island Tour. It starts with a visit to the Sugar Museum, an institution that played a vital role in shaping and stabilising the economy of Mauritius. Then, head up to Fort Adelaide, also known as La Citadelle, for a clear, sweeping view of Port Louis from above.
On the way to Port Louis Bazaar, you will pass through China Town, a Catholic Church, a Mosque, the High Court Building, and some of the finest French colonial buildings on the island. At the bazaar, try Dhol Puri, the national dish of Mauritius, and one that you really should not skip.
After that, head to Caudan Waterfront for some shopping and a relaxed stroll by the harbour. Later, visit Aapravasi Ghat, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where over 450,000 indentured labourers from India first set foot on Mauritian soil. This is a significant stop, especially for Indian visitors. The day ends at Château de Labourdonnais, a 19th-century colonial mansion where you round things off with a premium juice and rum tasting in one of the nicest settings on the island.
The day after brings a different kind of experience altogether, a deeper cultural and geographical journey through the South Island of Mauritius. It starts at Grand Bassin, locally known as Ganga Talao, the most sacred Hindu site on the island. It is a crater lake sitting in the middle of a forest, believed to be spiritually connected to the River Ganges. The 108 ft statue of Lord Shiva standing beside it is something you will not forget in a hurry.
From there, the route takes you to the Valley of Colours, where you can see 23 naturally occurring shades of coloured earth, all formed through volcanic activity over millions of years. Try the zipline or cross the Nepalese bridge, and walk away with a free digital photo souvenir as a couple. The day closes at Trou aux Cerfs, a dormant volcanic crater offering 360-degree views of the entire island. A genuinely spectacular way to end the day.
Next up is the day everyone looks forward to the most: The sun, beach, and good times at Île aux Cerfs. A speedboat takes you to this island off the east coast, where white sand, turquoise water, snorkeling, water sports, a beachside meal, and a waterfall visit are all waiting.
There is no fixed agenda here, just a full, open day by the ocean with your partner. Most couples say this ends up being their favourite day of the trip, and honestly, it is easy to see why. Then, come back for an overnight stay at The InterContinental Resort.
And then comes the most dreadful day of any trip: The Departure. Pack your souvenirs into your bags, your memories into your heart, and carry both back home.
So, are you ready to explore Mauritius? Book your Mauritius trip now!

No, Indian passport holders do not need a visa to visit Mauritius. A free entry stamp is provided on arrival, valid for up to 90 days. Travellers should ensure their passport is valid for at least 6 months from the date of travel.
Travelers arriving on direct flights from India are transferred to the hotel on an SIC basis. This means a shared coach with other travelers heading in the same direction. It is a comfortable and cost-effective option. Those who prefer a private vehicle can request one at an additional cost.
Mauritius is genuinely one of the better first international destinations for Indian couples. Nearly 70% of the Mauritian population has Indian roots, so the food, the culture, and even the language feel familiar in many ways. Add to that the fact that no visa is required and direct flights operate from major Indian cities, it is as smooth a first international trip as it gets.
Every destination in this itinerary has been selected keeping couples in mind. From the spiritual serenity of Grand Bassin to the free digital photo souvenir at Valley of Colours, the beachside time at Île aux Cerfs, and the elegant rum tasting at Château de Labourdonnais, the trip is built around shared experiences that couples tend to remember long after they are back home.
Adventure activities at Valley of Colours: zipline, Nepalese bridge, jeep ride, and water sports at Île aux Cerfs like snorkeling, parasailing, and undersea walk are available at an optional additional cost. The complimentary digital photo souvenir at Valley of Colours is included when any paid activity is opted for there.
Daily breakfast and dinner are included throughout the stay. Lunch is not part of the package, which actually works in the traveler's favour. It gives couples the flexibility to try local food on their own, whether that is a plate of Dhol Puri at Port Louis Bazaar or a beachside meal at Île aux Cerfs.
May to December is the most comfortable and weather-friendly window to visit Mauritius. The skies are clear, the weather is warm and dry, and ocean conditions are ideal for water activities. January to March brings the cyclone season. Travel during this period is possible, but travelers are advised to keep an eye on weather updates closer to their departure date.
Direct flights from Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, and Bengaluru take approximately 6 to 7 hours. No connecting flights, no layovers, it is a straightforward journey that most travelers find easier than expected for an international trip.
The sequence of tours may be reshuffled depending on local conditions and execution on the ground. Guests are informed about any changes on a daily basis. Travelers with specific preferences are encouraged to communicate them at the time of booking so the team can accommodate where possible.
The local currency is the Mauritian Rupee (MUR). Indian rupees are not accepted directly. Travelers are advised to carry US Dollars or Euros and exchange them locally upon arrival, or withdraw Mauritian Rupees from ATMs at the airport or in the city. Most hotels, restaurants, and larger shops accept international credit and debit cards without any issues.
Mauritius is a comfortable first international destination for Indian couples and a worthy return trip for those who have traveled before. Nearly 70% of Mauritians trace their roots to the Indian subcontinent. Bhojpuri is spoken in local markets. Hindu temples sit a short drive away from colonial-era churches. The food has strong Indian undertones. It is a foreign country that does not feel entirely unfamiliar, which takes the edge off for first-time international travelers.
Practically speaking, direct flights operate from Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, and Bengaluru. The flight is roughly 6–7 hours, and Indian passport holders do not need a visa. It is genuinely one of the most hassle-free international honeymoon options available from India right now.
