Did you know there is a country that gives the feel of Mini India, which is sitting approximately 5,000 km away from the Indian coastline? That country is Mauritius. A nation of pristine white beaches, rich cultural heritage, volcanic landscapes, and adventures that get the heart racing. This Mauritius tour package from India is designed to let you experience all this in one package. This trip will take you towards warm Creole hospitality, the best beach experiences, and everything that makes this island worth traveling for.
Your journey during these 5 days in Mauritius will start after your arrival at Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport. If you have taken direct flights from India, you will be transferred to your hotel on SIC basis. If not, then we will arrange private transfers for you. Then after reaching The Westin Turtle Bay Resort, unwind and relax. This day is at leisure. You may explore the local market, or just lounge near the pool, drink some cocktails at the bar and rest.
The next day, after breakfast, head out for the famous Mauritius North Island Tour. This tour is packed with History, Culture & a Lot of Flavour. Start at L'Aventure du Sucre, a 19th-century sugar factory turned museum. Mauritius was once among the world's leading sugar producers, and this restored factory walks you through that history well. This visit is topped off with a rum tasting from some of the island's best distilleries.
Next up is Fort Adelaide, which sits high above Port Louis. Built by the British between 1834 and 1840, it was designed to protect the capital from invasions and keep watch over local revolts. Today it gives you some of the best views of Port Louis and the harbour you'll find anywhere on the island.
In Port Louis, you move from one corner to another, and find something unexpected every time. Glide past through the colourful China Town, the Jummah Mosque, St. Louis Cathedral, the Port Louis Theatre.
Afterwards, visit Aapravasi Ghat. This UNESCO World Heritage Site was the first immigration depot set up by the British Empire after the abolition of slavery in 1834. Over 450,000 indentured labourers, most of them from India, arrived here and eventually shaped the cultural and social identity of Mauritius. For Indian travelers, this place hits differently.
The day wraps up at Château de Labourdonnais, a 19th-century colonial mansion named after French Governor Bertrand-François Mahé de La Bourdonnais, the man credited with building Mauritius into a prosperous colony. The architecture is striking, the gardens are well-kept, and the juice and rum tasting at the end is a genuinely good way to close the day.
The next day is reserved for multiple activities in the South Island of Mauritius. This is literally the most colorful day of the trip. Start with the Grand Bassin, also known as Ganga Talao. It is the most sacred Hindu site on the island. It is a natural crater lake, hidden inside a forest, and is believed to be spiritually connected to the River Ganges. During Maha Shivaratri, hundreds of thousands of devotees walk barefoot to this lake carrying Kanwar and offer their prayers. The 108 ft statue of Lord Shiva standing beside the lake is one of the best sights on the island.
Afterwards, move towards The Valley of Colours. This place is hard to describe until you see it. Twenty-three naturally occurring shades of earth, all formed through volcanic activity over millions of years, as different mineral-rich lava flows cooled at different rates. The activities are just as amazing as the place. You can do a Nepalese bridge crossing, a zipline, and a jeep ride for an adrenaline rush. All these activities make this 5 days Mauritius package a perfect trip for families.
Then, comes the turn of dormant volcanic crater to show its beauty. Visit Trou aux Cerfs, which is a dormant volcanic crater right in the middle of Curepipe. It is 300–350 metres wide, covered in dense greenery, and the viewing path along its rim gives you a 360-degree view of the island. On a clear day, the coastline is visible from up here. Then, have a look at the peak of artistry by visiting the Modal Ship factory and see how perfectly the miniatures of ships are made here.
The highlight of the trip is reserved for the next day. Do some water sports activities at Belle Mare Plage, and head towards Île aux Cerfs, an island off the east coast that has white sand beaches, calm turquoise water, and the kind of setting that makes you want to stay longer. Snorkel in the lagoon, try water sports, have a meal by the shore, or just walk along the beach. There is also a waterfall visit during the island tour, which adds a nice surprise to the day.
After this day of island discovery, come back to the hotel and rest. Watch the last sunset in Mauritius with your loved ones at The Westin Turtle Bay resort. Next day, transfer to the airport for your onward journey. That's how these 5 days in Mauritius will end on a memorable note.

Do not limit Mauritius as just a beach destination. While the beaches are soft and unlike other places, the country has many other highlights too. The island sits at a crossroads of African, Indian, French, and British influences, which results in a culture that is layered, lively and fascinating. People here speak Creole, French, English, and Bhojpuri; sometimes all in the same conversation. The food borrows from Indian spices, French cooking, and African flavours. And the landscapes? They shift from coastlines and coral reefs to misty highland plateaus and ancient volcanic craters.
For Indian travelers, Mauritius has a special connection. Nearly 70% of the Mauritian population traces its roots to the Indian subcontinent, making it a place that feels both foreign and oddly familiar. You'll find Hindu temples next to Catholic churches, hear Bhojpuri in the markets, and taste food that reminds you of home, all on a stunning island in the middle of the Indian Ocean.
