Some of us were slow, but that was never a problem for him, he just continued being his cheerful self and encouraged us to move on. Vishal also displayed proper planning and leadership skill. The trek was breathtaking in itself although slightly challenging so I wouldn't recommend it for beginners. I would grade it as moderate coz of the steepness of it at certain places. Triund is an easy trek which starts from Mcleodganj in Himachal Pradesh. Triund hill is situated at an altitude of 2875 meters above sea level, surrounded by a breathtaking view of Kangra valley and the Dhauladhar range.
Triund trek is at a trekking distance of 9km from McleodGanj town and takes about 4 -5 hrs to reach the top.
Triund trek can be done from either of the two routes, one starting from Dharamkot via Gallu Devi Temple or from Bhagsu Nag via Shiva Café. Gallu Devi temple is the starting point of the triund trek and is at a distance of 2 KM from the Main Square and as you are on a trekking trip in should be done walking. You can also hire an Auto orTaxi, to reach the starting point.
The trekking route from Mcleodganj to triund top is on an Easy to Moderate level as there are some steep steps at places.
Triund trekking package includes camping at triund (depends on the permit), guide trek to triund top, and meals.
Mcleodganj situated at a road distance of 250 km from Chandigarh and 480 from New Delhi, Triund Trek is one of the most sought after trekking for beginners.
