But many people might not be aware that, apart from being a party destination and amazing beaches is also one of the best places for couples to spend their honeymoon in Goa.

Curious to find out how you can spend your perfect honeymoon in Goa the picturesque state? Stick around through the end of the blog to know more.

Beaches all around…

A serene view of Velsao Beach

No other place in India apart from Gujarat can boast of the most beaches in a state. So that makes honeymoon in Goa a perfect destination. Goa is also known as the “Beach Capital of India” and rightly so because there are many popular beaches throughout the state.

Although, Goa is one of the smallest states of India, it makes up for the bulk of tourists which visit this destination.

Here are some of the beaches that you should visit for an amazing honeymoon escapade, and if you are looking for more, here is a guide to all the offbeat places to visit in Goa.

  1. Colva Beach

You might have heard of the saying “Old is Gold” and Colva Beach actually resonated with this saying. It is one of the largest and oldest beaches of South Goa and is not to be missed when you are in South Goa.

The area around this beach is well developed and you will find many shacks, restaurants, pubs, bars and guesthouses all in close proximity to the beach, making it one of the perfect places for your honeymoon in Goa.

This beach stretches for around 2.4 km, part of a beach consisting of about 25 kms of white sand. It is lined along its shore by coconut and palm trees, and extending as far as Bogmalo Beach to the north and Cabo de rama Beach to the South Goa’s coastline. It takes around an hour to reach Colva Beach from Panaji.

  1. Velsao Beach

This beach can be your own personal beach and we aren’t even joking. This beach is one of the best offbeat places in Goa to visit and the footfall is low, almost negligible. This beach has one of the best beach surfaces, i.e. it is lined with warm silver sand and you would also see fishermen along with their families going fishing in the waters.

The women and kids stay back and you can even indulge in a game of cricket or football on the beach with the kids.

This beach is located in Vasco De Gama, near Dabolim Airport. We would highly recommend visiting this beach at least once with your partner during your honeymoon in Goa.

  1. Agonda Beach

An untouched beach of Goa lying in the southern reaches of the state, Agonda Beach has a lot going for it.

It is one of the cleanest beaches of Goa and the rest of India and it is not commercialised like the beaches of North Goa and some beaches of South Goa, so you can spend some quality time alone, away from the hustle and bustle of the tourists and crowded places, making it a perfect place to visit while on your honeymoon in Goa.

It is one of those places of Goa where you can sunbathe and have a romantic escapade with your loved ones as there are few tourists here. You can also see many olive ridley turtles as this beach is their preferred nesting ground.

Just some miles to your favourite “Isles”…

Somewhere in Conco Island…

It’s just not all beaches here in Goa, there are islands as well for you to explore. There are many islands in Goa which will provide you an immersive experience on your honeymoon to Goa.

  1. São Jacinto Island

Along with being one of the most offbeat places to travel in Goa, this island is also the most exotic one. Located a few kilometres from the city of Vasco, this island boasts of an interesting tale.

In the 20th century, the residents of São Jacinto Island made a pact amongst themselves not to give the island on lease and let companies disturb the island’s ecosystem.

So, even to this day, the island has surreal beauty which captivates people visiting it and it surely takes you to old days with its surroundings.

To get to this island, you need to take the NH-17 Vasco-Panaji Coastal Highway and from Vasco city this island is a mile away and you can take a boat or ferry to reach the island.

PS: Don’t forget to ride around the island in the boat and go atop the lighthouse for the most surreal panoramic view from the island.

  1. Conco Island

This island is one to visit when you are in Goa. Located in Canacona, it features a serene coastline along with stunning views of the Arabian sea.

Conco Island is also known as the “Monkey Island”. According to the legends, many hundred years ago, this island was swarmed by colonies of monkeys. You can still spot some monkeys from the island’s coconut groves.

Sunbathing and swimming in the low tides are a must when you are here in Conco Island.

  1. Ilha de Grande

Ilha de Grande is also known as “Grande Island” or “Bat Island”. It is prominently known as the best spot to experience snorkeling in Goa. This place feels like a customized location for snorkeling admirers.

If you are in love with snorkeling, you will be amazed with the environment in Bat Island. This place deserves to be on the top of your bucket list while travelling to Goa.
