Is the Malaysia tour package suitable for a family vacation? Or is a Malaysia trip only for honeymooners? These are the queries that we get from our clients on a daily basis. That's why we are here with this 5 days Malaysia tour package, which works for every kind of traveler. So, get ready for a simple, seamless and exciting Malaysia tour from India.
The trip starts with your arrival at Kuala Lumpur International Airport, where a representative will be waiting for you. From there, you will be transferred to the hotel. This day is to relax and explore the city at your own pace.
If you have the energy, head to the Golden Triangle. It is the city's main commercial and entertainment hub. You can also find a rooftop bar in the area, from where the entire Kuala Lumpur skyline opens up in front of you, with the Petronas Twin Towers lighting up in front of you.
The next day, after breakfast, the Kuala Lumpur city tour begins. The first stop is the KL Tower observation deck, sitting at 1,381 feet. The deck is fully air-conditioned and gives you a clear, unobstructed 360-degree view of the city. The Petronas Twin Towers are visible from here. The deck has a glass-bottom section, so there is nothing between you and the view below.
Then, stop for a photo stop at the famous Petronas Twin towers of Malaysia. If you are interested to up and have a bird eye view of Malaysian skyline, then we can arrange the tickets. Next, drive past Merdeka Square, also known as Dataran Merdeka, which means Independence Square in Malay. Every Kuala Lumpur city tour includes this stop, because this is where Malaysia declared its independence and raised its flag for the first time on 31st August 1957. To understand a country, you have to know where it comes from, and this square is that starting point.
From there, the tour moves to Masjid Negara, the National Mosque of Malaysia. The architecture here is different from the typical Islamic mosque design. There are no large central dome, but a bold star-shaped roof, a spacious prayer hall and clean, structured lines. Inside the complex is Makam Pahlawan, where Malaysia's national heroes are buried. The star-shaped roof covering the mausoleum is worth looking up at. The mosque is surrounded by well-kept gardens on all sides.
The next stop is Istana Negara, the official residence of the King of Malaysia. After that, the tour takes you to Tugu Negara, the National Monument, which commemorates the soldiers who died during Malaysia's nationalist struggle. On the way, you will also drive past the old Malaysian Railway Administration Building, which has stood since 1910. The Moorish architecture here too is easy to spot.
The last stop of the day is Beryl's Chocolate Kingdom. Browse through the range, learn about the brand's story, and pack some chocolates to take home. Most people leave with more than they planned to buy and no regrets about it.
That's Day 2 of this 5 days Malaysia tour done.
Next day, after a hearty breakfast, head out towards Genting Highlands. The drive up is through thick rainforest, and as you go higher, the temperature drops and the mist starts coming in. It's a noticeable shift from the city.
But first, stop at Batu Caves. The first thing you see as you arrive is the statue of Lord Murugan at the entrance. It is a 140 ft tall statue, making it one of the tallest statues of a Hindu deity in the world. From there, 272 rainbow-coloured steps lead up to the main Temple Cave. The cave itself is a natural limestone formation with a large open ceiling that lets light pour in from above. It has been a place of Hindu worship for over 100 years. During Thaipusam, the annual Hindu festival, over a million pilgrims gather here, making it one of the largest Hindu pilgrimages outside of India. The long-tailed macaques on the steps are a fixture of the place, so keep your belongings close.
Then, resume the journey towards Genting Highlands. It is a full resort town at the top of a mountain. There is a theme park, a cable car, shopping, casinos and nature walks, all at hill station temperatures. For families, Genting SkyWorlds Theme Park is the main draw. It is an outdoor-indoor theme park spread across 25 acres with rides and zones across different themes. Even if theme parks are not your priority, the cool air and the cloud-level views are reason enough to be here.
Day 4 of this 5 days Malaysia tour package is straightforward. It is a full day at Sunway Lagoon, and you will need every bit of it.
Sunway Lagoon is spread across 88 acres and is divided into six separate parks: the Water Park, Amusement Park, Extreme Park, Wildlife Park, Scream Park and Nickelodeon Lost Lagoon. Your ticket gives you access to all six. After a day of full adventure, come back to the hotel for the last night of this 5 days Malaysia tour.
Then comes the last morning in Singapore. After breakfast, check out of the hotel and you will be transferred to Kuala Lumpur International Airport in time for your flight.

Yes, 5 days in Malaysia is enough to cover the major highlights of Kuala Lumpur and its surrounding attractions. This itinerary includes the KL City Tour, KL Tower, Merdeka Square, Batu Caves, Genting Highlands and a full day at Sunway Lagoon Water Park. It is a well-paced itinerary that gives you a good mix of history, culture, nature and leisure.
The best time to visit the West Coast (KL, Langkawi) of Malaysia is December to April, while the East Coast islands are best from April to August. If you want to avoid both peak crowds and heavy monsoons, March and October are the ideal "shoulder" months. Regardless of when you go, expect tropical heat and short afternoon showers year-round.
Yes, this Malaysia tour package is very well suited for families with kids. Genting SkyWorlds Theme Park at Genting Highlands and Sunway Lagoon Water Park are both built with younger travelers in mind. The itinerary balances activity with leisure, so it works well for families traveling with children of all ages.
Malaysia is a great honeymoon destination. Kuala Lumpur offers rooftop dining, a stunning skyline, luxury hotels and a mix of cultural and leisure experiences. The cool, misty atmosphere of Genting Highlands adds a romantic quality to the trip. Couples looking for a honeymoon tour to Malaysia will find this 5-days itinerary gives them a comfortable mix of experiences without being overly packed.
5 to 7 days is the ideal duration for a Malaysia trip from India. A 5-day itinerary comfortably covers Kuala Lumpur, Genting Highlands, Batu Caves and Sunway Lagoon. If you have more time, you can extend the trip to include Penang, Langkawi or the Perhentian Islands for a more complete Malaysia experience.
The must-visit places in a Kuala Lumpur city tour are the KL Tower, Merdeka Square, Masjid Negara, Istana Negara, Tugu Negara, the Sultan Abdul Samad Building and Beryl's Chocolate Kingdom. Batu Caves, located on the outskirts of the city, is also a non-negotiable stop on any Malaysia itinerary.
As of 2026, the answer is no. Indian passport holders can enter Malaysia visa-free for up to 30 days under the visa-free entry scheme. However, visa policies are subject to change, so it is always recommended to check the latest guidelines from the Malaysian Immigration Department or consult your travel agent before booking.
The currency used in Malaysia is the Malaysian Ringgit (MYR). For a 5-day Malaysia tour, carrying between INR 15,000 to INR 25,000 in local currency for personal expenses like shopping, meals and tips is a reasonable estimate, depending on your spending habits.
Yes, Sunway Lagoon is absolutely worth visiting. It is one of Asia's top theme park destinations, spread across 88 acres with six parks, including a Water Park, Amusement Park, Extreme Park, Wildlife Park, Scream Park and Nickelodeon Lost Lagoon. It works well for solo travelers, couples and families alike, and a full day here is easily justified.
For a 5-day Malaysia tour package, pack light and breathable clothing for the city days, a light jacket or sweater for Genting Highlands. Temperatures there can drop to around 15–20°C and swimwear for the Sunway Lagoon day.
Comfortable walking shoes are important, especially for Batu Caves where you will be climbing 272 steps. Carry a small dry bag for the water park day and keep your travel documents, including your passport, easily accessible throughout the trip.
