Goecha La Trek is situated in Sikkim like other treks such as Rhododendron Trek, Dzongri Trek, Varsey Trek and more. But, no other trek gives you a view like the Goecha La Trek. Situated amidst the Rhododendron forests, the way through the trek is filled with utmost beauty.
Samiti Lake is another tourist spot that lies in Goecha La trek and the view of the lake in the early mornings is worth watching. The reflection from surrounding hills gives the trekkers a mesmerizing moment. However, if you want to live a real moment of sunrise, it is the Kanchenjunga mountain sunrise view.
There are so many Mountain ranges that are in Sikkim, but Kanchenjunga is the highest peak among all. The beauty of sunshine falling on it is another aspect to cherish. So, people opt Goecha La Trek to get this piece of joy.
Not only Kanchenjunga, but all major mountains of Sikkim are visible from Goecha La Trek. It is the only trekking point in Sikkim that offers the opportunity to view all big mountain ranges which is why it is better than rest trekking points.
The best time to go trekking to Goecha La Trek is April or May, where Rhododendrons blossom and spread the fragrance everywhere. It is a pleasure to have a heavenly walk through the pink pathway.
Goecha La Trek is the closest trek to Nepal and offers the view to Nepal and its mountain valleys. Some foreigners also travel to Goecha La Trek after seeking the trek permit at the gate.
Goecha La Trek is once in a lifetime experience for visitors. Numerous adventures can be undertaken here. So, if you are an adventure lover, it is the place for you.
The trek usually takes ten days to travel to reach the Kanchenjunga viewpoint and a lot of great mountain ranges. The trek starts from Yuksom where trekkers can stay for the night and the trip commences from there. Teesta River Bridge is again a point where you will cherish your trek and have a good time. From Yuksom to Sachen, you will cross the Rathong River and the Paha Khola Bridge.
On your Goecha La Trek, you will move through several moraines and reach Zamatheng Plateau and Samiti Lake. Samiti lake is a beauty reflecting the Pandim mountain's artistic image. The trek commences from Yuksom and is completed on the 11th day when you return to Yuksom. If you travel to Goecha La around October, you will experience the snow on the mountain-top and the clear sky.

Luggage: During the trekking period, you may leave your luggage at your Hotel, Homestay in Yuksom. (This is for the luggage you won't need during the trek and can be retrieved when you return.)
Cash withdrawal: If you plan to visit Sikkim, especially places like Yuksom, Dzongri, or for the Goechala Trek, do not expect to withdraw cash after reaching Yuksom. As of now, Yuksom does not have ATM services until at least 2026.
