However, since it's a beginner-friendly trek, spending a day for leisure to gain your energy is also quite important. That being said, 3 days are enough for a weekend trip to Chopta.

Winter season especially the months of January to Mid march is the ideal time for snow fanatics to witness the breathtaking view of snow-covered Himalayan peaks from the Chandrashila summit.
Although Chopta remains accessible for almost the entire year except for the monsoon season as the trails become slippery, the best time to do the Chopta Tungnath trek is ideally the months of April, May & June.

Chopta trek is a relatively short trek with gradual ascends that lead you to higher altitudes that are of Chandrashilla and Tungnath. The entire trail is 14 kilometers long and you get to traverse through Tungnath which is the world's highest Shiva temple.
The distance between Chopta and Tungnath is somewhere around 6 kilometers. However, the climb can be steep at times and due to the gradual ascent, novice trekkers tend to get easily exhausted. The trek to Chandrashilla summit is slightly more difficult but equally rewarding.
