Sikkim is a little northeastern state, which is nestled between the borders of Nepal and Bhutan. It is the least populous and second smallest amongst the Indian states. This little gem in the northeast region of India has a lot to offer in terms of its natural beauty and mystical getaways which are sure to leave you spellbound.
The best time to visit Sikkim would be in the months from April to June in summers. In summers, you can expect to see rhododendrons and orchids in full bloom in the valleys of Sikkim which makes for a really surreal experience. The summer months are really pleasant with temperatures ranging from 12 degrees centigrade to 28 degrees centigrade. These months are the best times to catch glimpses of the mountains and trekking is one of the best activities that you can enjoy during these months. Other activities include hangliding, white water rafting, mountain biking, kayaking and canoeing.
The best months to visit Sikkim during winter are from October to December. During this trip, you’ll be visiting Changu/Tsomgo Lake which is a glacial lake in the East Sikkim district around 40kms from the capital Gangtok. It is one of the highest glacial lakes in the world with a height of almost 3,753 mts. This lake remains frozen for almost throughout the year.
Nathula is also one of the most famous places of Sikkim. It is one of the highest mountain passes in the world which is accessible to humans. It is located at a height of 4,310mts above sea level. The word Nathula comes from Tibetan language, Nathu meaning “Listening Ears'' and La meaning “Pass”.
Lachung is a small town located in the northeast part of Sikkim. It is located at an elevation of about 2,900mts and is known as “one of the most picturesque locations in Sikkim”.

Darjeeling is a city in the Indian state of West Bengal. Some of the famous places in this city are the tea estates, views of Kangchenjunga and the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway.
You can catch a stunning view of the sunrise from Tiger Hills which is also known as “Sunrise point”. Other famous places to visit in Darjeeling include Ghoom Monastery, Batasia Loop, HMI, P.N. Zoological Park, Tenzing Rock and Tibetian Refugee center.
