Overview

Rajasthan is one of the most beautiful and royal states of India, a unique state which has deserts, palaces, lakes, colorful attire wearing humble people who will delight you as soon as you enter Rajasthan.

We start our 6 nights 7 days Delightful Rajasthan Tour (Jaipur-Mandawa-Bikaner-Pushkar) from Jaipur. Jaipur is the capital city and the largest city in the state of Rajasthan. It is also known as the “Pink City” as almost all of the buildings and architecture adorn pink color on their walls. Jaipur also serves as a gateway to other famous places in Rajasthan such as Udaipur, Jaisalmer and Mount Abu.

Some of the famous places to visit in Jaipur are the Hawa Mahal and Jal Mahal.

Hawa Mahal is a beautiful palace which is made up of red and pink sandstone which gives it a really impressive look. Jal Mahal on the other hand is a palace in the middle of Man Sagar Lake. It is a brilliant example of Rajput Style of architecture and makes up for a really unique location in the world. Jantar Mantar is a collection of nineteen astronomical instruments in the shape of architecture. It has the world’s largest sundial and is also a UNESCO world heritage site. The structure was built in the 19th century.

Ajmer is one of the oldest cities of India, surrounded by the Aravali Mountains. Ajmer has one of the holiest shrines for the Muslims in the world, Dargah Sharif which only comes second to Mecca in Saudi Arabia. Legend has it that Mughal emperor Akbar was one of the most famous devotees of Chisti and once walked barefoot all the way from Agra to Ajmer.

Bikaner is a city in the northwestern state of Rajasthan, which was formerly the princely state of Bikaner around 1488 CE. Bikaner is often not seen as a famous tourist place amongst famous places in Rajasthan, but Bikaner has its own charm and uniqueness about it. Karni Mata Temple which is known as the “Rat Temple” is one of the most unique temples of the world which is home to almost 20,000 rats. Legend has it that Goddess Durga turned the storyteller caste of Rajasthani males to rats in order to spite God of Death Yama. Junagarh Fort is another place to visit in Bikaner city, Junagarh literally means “Old Fort”. It is one of the few forts in Rajasthan which is not built on a hilltop and what makes it unique is that the whole city of Bikaner is built around it. The fort is so beautiful that many Bollywood movies and TV shows have been shot in it. The fort is inspired by Rajasthani, Gujarati, Mughal and British architecture which makes it one of a kind.

Pushkar is a city in the Ajmer district of Rajasthan which is famous for its temples and pilgrimage sites for both Hindus and Sikhs. Some of the most famous places to visit in Pushkar are the Pushkar lake, Gurudwara Singh Sabha and Brahma Temple. The world famous Pushkar Camel fair starts in November which makes it one of the best times to visit Pushkar. It is one of the best places to see the sun go down, you might want to hop off to a rooftop cafe to unwind from the day’s travel and enjoy a surreal sunset and some local delicacies of Pushkar.
