Periyar National Park is most famous for its wild Asian elephants. Visitors often spot them during boat rides or guided treks. The park is also home to tigers, Indian bison (gaur), sambar deer, wild boars, and a variety of birds and reptiles. While tiger sightings are rare, elephant sightings are quite common, especially near the lake. It’s a top wildlife attraction in South India and a highlight in many Kerala tour packages.
The best time to visit Munnar is from September to March when the weather is cool and perfect for sightseeing, trekking, and enjoying tea gardens. Winter (November to February) brings crisp mountain air and misty landscapes, making it ideal for couples and families. Avoid peak summer (April-May) if you dislike crowds. While monsoons turn Munnar lush, landslides and slippery roads can be a concern during heavy rainfall.
Yes, Kovalam is a great destination for families. The beaches are clean, lifeguard-patrolled, and perfect for swimming and sand play. It also offers cultural attractions, Ayurvedic wellness centers, and boat rides. Family-friendly resorts and restaurants make it easy to travel with kids or elderly members. Include Kovalam in your Kerala family tour and enjoy a balanced holiday of fun and relaxation. Book your hassle-free family trip with JustWravel for the best experience.
