Have you ever dreamt of leaving behind the city chaos and losing yourself in the raw, untouched beauty of the Himalayas? Spiti Valley Tour Package – Chandratal, Chitkul & Nako Circuit (8N/9D) gives you the chance to do just that, an adventure filled with remote high-altitude villages, ancient monasteries, moonlit lakes, and starry nights that feel straight out of a dream. Over 7 unforgettable days, this Spiti Valley tour plan takes you on a journey through snow-capped mountains, winding roads, and charming hamlets that seem frozen in time.
Your experience begins in Delhi, where you’ll meet like-minded travelers and set off on an overnight journey towards the mountains. As dawn breaks, you’ll find yourself approaching Shimla before continuing into the breathtaking Kinnaur Valley. The air feels fresher, the scenery transforms into lush hills and mighty peaks, and you realize your Himalayan escape has truly begun. Soon, you’ll reach Chitkul, the last village on the Indo-Tibet border, where wooden houses, mountain breezes, and riverside walks make you feel like you’ve stepped into a postcard. Watching the sun dip behind snow-covered mountains here is nothing short of magical.
The next day, your Spiti Valley tour plan takes you further into the highlands as you travel towards Nako. The journey itself is a spectacle, stop by “Hindustan ka Aakhri Dhaba,” enjoy a scenic lunch overlooking Kinnaur Kailash Peak, and witness the incredible confluence of the Sutlej and Spiti rivers at Khab. By evening, you’ll reach Nako, a peaceful Himalayan village where a serene lake and panoramic viewpoints offer some of the most breathtaking photo opportunities of your trip.
From Nako, the landscape becomes wilder and more dramatic as you enter Spiti Valley. On the way to Kaza, explore the thousand-year-old Tabo Monastery, often called the “Ajanta of the Himalayas,” and feel the spirituality of Dhankar Monastery perched high on a cliffside. Every stop introduces you to Spiti’s rich cultural heritage and timeless beauty. By sunset, you’ll reach Kaza, the valley’s heart, where cozy stays and warm mountain meals welcome you.
The following day is dedicated to discovering Spiti’s iconic gems. Visit Key Monastery, a centuries-old marvel standing tall amidst the mountains. Walk across Asia’s highest suspension bridge, Chicham Bridge, and send a postcard from the world’s highest post office in Hikkim, a simple act that feels extraordinary at such altitudes. Continue your journey to Komic, one of the highest inhabited villages in the world, and Langza, where a towering Buddha statue watches over the valley of fossils. As night falls, step outside and witness a starlit sky so vast and clear that it feels like the universe has unfolded just for you.
No Spiti Valley tour package is complete without a visit to Chandratal, the mystical “Moon Lake.” The drive via Kunzum Pass is an adventure in itself, offering jaw-dropping views and endless photo stops. As you reach Chandratal, its crystal-clear waters reflecting the surrounding peaks will leave you mesmerized. Spending a night under a blanket of stars, far away from city lights, is the kind of memory that stays with you forever.
Finally, you’ll make your way back to Manali, cherishing every last glimpse of the mountains before heading to Delhi. This isn’t just a trip; it’s a soul-stirring experience that blends natural beauty, adventure, and local culture into one seamless journey.

January is the coldest month in Spiti Valley, with temperatures often plunging below -20°C in some areas. The entire region experiences heavy snowfall, making roads inaccessible and cutting it off from nearby towns. While winter transforms Spiti into a stunning white wonderland, only experienced travelers equipped for extreme cold should visit during this time, as accommodation and water availability become challenging.
Shimla is around 415 km from Lahaul Spiti, with a travel time of 12–14 hours by road. The route passes through Narkanda, Rampur, Reckong Peo, and Kaza, offering mesmerizing Himalayan vistas along the way. Travelers often choose this route for a gradual ascent to Spiti, which helps with acclimatization. Private taxis, buses, or self-drive options are commonly preferred for this long journey.
Chandratal Lake, located at 4,300 meters, is accessible mainly from Manali or Kaza during the summer months (June–September). You can drive to Batal or the Chandratal parking area and then trek 1.5 km to reach the lake. Camping near the lake is popular but restricted to designated sites, as staying right at the lakeside is prohibited to preserve its pristine environment.
