This 7 day trip across Kutch, Gujarat is perfectly planned to keep in mind that we get enough time to explore major locations in Kutch. Dholavira which is an offbeat location and not very frequented by travelers in spite of its rich history is known for Dholavira lake, the famous Harappan Archaeological site & the fossil park. Mandvi, on the other hand, is the beach town and has several-year-old dockyard and Dhordo is a village in the region of Great White Rann famously known for acres & acres of the white desert. During the time time of the Kutch festival, a lot of local shops and fare are organized in Kutch. Pakistan border from this town is about 50 km and the border can be visited on taking prior permission from Bhuj.
This road trip of about 1000+ km takes you from the Barren land of Kutch at one hand to beaches at Mandvi with varied flora and fauna.

Our representative and vehicle will be there to receive you from the Railway station or airport (Meeting Time 10 AM). After meeting with all the group members we start our Road Trip to the famous White Rann of Kutch. Our destination for today is Dhordo, which is one of the villages in the White Rann of Kutch and hosts the famous Rann Utsav. Dhordo is 400 km from Ahmedabad and it will take us about 8 hrs to reach. Roads in Gujarat are a treat and even after mandatory stops, we should be in Dhordo before sunset.
Check in to the allotted rooms and rest for some time and relish chai-pakoras /biscuits at the property.
Dinner and Overnight stay in Dhordo.
Afternoons in Kutch are Hot so make sure to carry your water bottle, sunglasses, hat.
After breakfast we leave for Rann of Kutch tour, exploring the villages and routes. ( Make sure you carry a daypack with lots of fluids).
Return to campsite for Lunch.
Start your journey to Kalo Dungar which is the highest point in Rann of Kutch region and is about 49 km from Dhordo, also visit the Last Indian post possible for travelers on the Indo – Pak border. ( Going further depends on the permit).
Later visit the white Rann of Kutch and activities zone waiting for a stunning sunset. You can also go for a camel ride, cart ride at Rann of Kutch. Eat from the local vendors, will have enough time for shopping and market exploration at the Kutch Festival
Return to campsite for Bonfire and Cultural show as per Itinerary.
Dinner and Stay at the Property.
Today we start our journey from the White Rann of Kutch to the Beach town Mandvi. Mandvi is 140 kms from Dhordo and will take around 3 hrs to reach via Bhuj. It has a very old and famous dockyard and is a major port because of its proximity to Karachi.
After a short journey, we will reach Mandvi after Lunch. Check in to the allocated rooms and relax for a while and we later visit Osho Restaurant in Mandvi, which is famous for its Vegetarian Thali and is a must-have.
Night Stay at Mandvi
We start our day with an early morning drive to Mandvi Beach. Spend early hours watching the sunrise. While returning eat at the local eatery enjoying the Gujarati cuisines. Return to Hotel. Freshen up and start for our destination Dholavira..which is an offbeat location and about 270 kms from Mandvi. It will take us 6 hrs to reach. Roads are good, so we will be in Dholavira before Sunset.

Dholavira has clear night skies and taking a walk in the moonlit night after dinner is recommended.
Dholavira is located on Tropic of Cancer and is one of the five largest Harappan sites, belonging to the Indus Valley civilization era.
After a heavy breakfast at the property, we start our Dholavira sightseeing tour. Major places of attraction in Dholavira are the Harappan site, Fossil Park, and the Dholavira Lake.
Afternoons in Kutch are hot so make sure you carry sunglasses, cap, and water bottle. After spending a few good hours exploring the places, we return to the property for Lunch.
A good part of White Rann of Kutch is in Dholavira as well, so after resting for sometime post lunch at the property we leave for photo moments at the White sand and to view one of the best sunsets.
Return to stay by late evening. Tea, followed by Dinner.
Overnight stay at Dholavira.
Today we have a little long journey to Ahmedabad from Dholavira. Total distance is about 370 km and it should take us about 8 hrs for this one.
We will start after breakfast from Dholavira, travelling from one side of Gujarat to almost the other side, passing through the windmill farms, salt farms, industrial towns, it will be a joy ride, a ride to remember.
We will reach Ahmedabad by evening. Relax for sometime at the property and later in the evening we visit Sabarmati waterfront and the food street, Manek Chowk.
For foodies this is a delight, the street gets a little crowded, but the food is mouth watering. Feast on the delicacies for few hours and end it with a Sweet Pan. We return to the Hotel after dinner.
Stay in Ahmedabad.
Today is the last day of our tour. There are no fixed plans for this particular day.
We check out from the hotel around 10 am after breakfast and you can book your flights or train tickets for the afternoon or later in the evening.

Weather in Kutch during the afternoon will be hot, guests are requested to carry fleece for the evenings.
Q. What will be the group size?
Usually, we take maximum of 15-18 people in one group. We believe bigger groups have less fun and less coordination so that’s why we prefer smaller groups.
We need at least 6 people to operate our fixed departure tours/treks.
Q. Who all will go along with us on the trip/trek?
All our treks are led by professional trek leaders who are certifie, mountaineers. Apart from them, there will be one local guide, cook, helper, porters and other staff.

Q. I am the only girl in the group, is it safe to travel/trek solo?
Yes definitely it is, the safety of girls is most important for us. All our guides and other staff are carefully chosen for trips/treks. They are honest and reliable but we also advise you to take care of your personal belongings.
Q. What are the things that we need to carry on the trek/trip?
Once you confirm the trip/trek and done with the booking, we will send you the packing list according to the trip/trek.
Q. What type of ground transportation will be used on the trip?
We hire taxis such as Innova, Tempo Traveller, Bolero, Tata Sumo, etc. from our vendors.
Q. I cannot carry my rucksack/bag on the trek, can I offload it?
We always recommend that you carry your rucksack during the trek because it helps in maintaining your body posture. In case if you cannot, then we can provide you a mule/porter to carry your rucksack. You will have to tell us at least 1 week before the trek. The charges for offloading would be INR 300 per person per day.
Q. Which shoes should I buy?
Shoes are your lifeline on the trek. It is highly advisable to buy trekking shoes of a good and known brand. You can consider companies like Quechua, Columbia, etc. A waterproof shoes with ankle support will work good.
Q. What are the washroom/toilet facilities like on the trek?
During the treks, separate toilet tents will be set up on each campsite.
Q. What will be the type of accommodation?
It depends on the tour. If it is a trek then you will be staying in dome tents or if it is a road trip the the accommodation can be in hotel/alpine tent/dome tent/home stay.
Q. Will you provide sleeping bags and mattresses?
Yes, we will provide sleeping bags and mattresses during the trek. Our sleeping bags can withstand temperature as low as -10 degree.
Q. How many trekkers will be in one tent?
It totally depends on group dynamics. If there is a couple, we can give them a separate tent or if there are odd number of people, then there would be triple sharing.
Q. How can I book a trek/trip with you?

Q. What type of food is served during the trek?
We provide nutritious and healthy food during the treks. We always serve Indian vegetarian food and eggs.
Q. How to get safe drinking water on the trek?
Himalayan water is considered the purest water and safe to drink. But for safety purpose, we sometimes boil the water and then use it for drinking and cooking.
In case you find any clean water on the trek, always fill your water where the water is running not where the water is stable or is in rest.
Q. Can we change the itinerary?
Yes, you can give suggestions. We will look into that and if we find it feasible then we will apply it.
Q. Can you customize the trip/trek?
Yes, we can customize any trip/trek as per your needs and as per the feasibility.
Q. Will doctor accompany us on the trek?
No, but our trek leaders are certified in Wildlife First Aid course and they always carry first aid kit and oxygen cylinders on high altitude treks.
Q. Do you prefer I should bring some medicines with me?
Yes it is advisable that you carry your own medication on the trek.
Q. Diamox is advisable or not?
Well, it totally depends on person to person. Usually, there are no side effects of Diamox but if you are having any prior medical conditions then it is better to consult your doctor.
Our itinerary is designed in a way that we take sufficient time to get acclimatized. In case if you are having problem on the trek then tell your trek leader about your condition as soon as possible.
Q. Can I take my child along on this trek? What is the age limit?
It depends on the difficulty level of the trek. Minimum age for eligibility is 14 years.
Q. What will we do if it rains?
If it starts raining slowly while trekking then we will continue our trek as per the plan. Your poncho will keep you dry. In case if it is raining heavily then we will try to find any shelter and wait for the rain to stop or slow. If it rains at the campsite then there would not be any problem because all our living tents, kitchen tents and toilet tents are waterproof. You will stay dry inside.
Q. Why is the trekking pole necessary?
Differs from person to person. If you think that it would help you maintaining balance while trekking then do bring the pole. Some people think that trekking pole disturbs the walking rhythm. So it’s upto you.
The Great Rann or “ Rann of Kutch” is a salt marsh in the Thar desert in the Kutch District of Gujarat.
Rann of Kutch is about 10,000 sq km in area and is one of the largest salt deserts in the world. Rann means salt marsh and hence it’s called the Rann of Kutch. The best time to visit Rann of Kutch is during the months of October to February as the salt desert is underwater during the monsoon months and the rest of the months its an enormous stretch of pearly white sand making the Rann of Kutch an extraordinarily beautiful destination.
