Day 1: Arrival in Jaipur

The first day of our well-curated Rajasthan tour plan starts in Jaipur (the capital of Rajasthan), also famously known as the “Pink City”. Upon arrival, the tourists will be greeted with Rajasthan’s warm desert air and safely escorted to their respective accommodations. After check-in, a quick refresh and some rest, tourists will begin their journey to Jaipur around 12.30 or 1 pm.

Jaipur is renowned as one of India’s most popular cities, packed with colorful city views, bustling bazaars, and lively heritage. This major city is also a part of the highly popular Golden Triangle route (Delhi, Agra, Jaipur).

As per the Jaipur itinerary, the journey will begin with a visit to the colossal City Palace, the royal residence of the erstwhile kings of Jaipur. The architecture of this palace is immensely incredible, immediately giving the feel of stepping back in time. Approximately 1.5 to 2 hours will be allocated to these locations, where tourists can take their time admiring the Mubarak Mahal,  the weapons gallery, the Chandra Mahal, royal costumes, and the luxurious courtyards. Tourists can enjoy their photography sessions at the Pritam Niwas Chowk, which is mainly the beautifully painted Peacock Gate.

Post that, tourists will be taken to the neighbouring Jantar Mantar, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Another 45-60 minutes are allocated for this place, where tourists, especially the science and history buffs, can enjoy exploring the gigantic astronomical instruments that were used nearly 300 years ago to calculate eclipses, planetary motions, and time with mind-blowing accuracy.

During the evening, around 4 pm, tourists will head to the iconic Hawa Mahal, where they can spend leisurely time capturing the beauty of the honeycomb façade from the roadside. Following this, they can even visit the lively bazaars to wholeheartedly shop for block-printed fabrics, oxidized jewellery, Jaipuri juttis, lacquer bangles, and miniature paintings.

Later in the evening, as the day’s tiredness builds, tourists will head to Choki Dhani for savory, decadent Rajasthani cuisine, all while enjoying folk performances, magic acts, camel rides, puppet shows, traditional dance, and authentic rural hospitality.

Please note: The Rajasthani Thali will be pure veg, including dal baati churma, ker sangri, kadhi, gatte ki sabzi, bajra roti, and buttery malpua.

With this, your Day 1 in Jaipur will end, followed by a relaxing overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 2: Exploring Pink City

Your Day 2, as per the Jaipur itinerary, will begin early, with a soul-satisfying breakfast at your hotel. Tourists will leave by 8.30 or 9:00 AM max for the colossal Amer Fort, a great place featuring stunning Rajput and Mughal architecture crafted in red sandstone and marble. This place is about stepping into the ancient times, exploring, and deeply admiring the grandeur of Sheesh Mahal, Sukh Niwas, Diwan-e-Aam, and iconic courtyards built by Maharaja Man Singh. What’s worth noting are the mirror mosaics, the decorated marble floors, and the hand-painted walls.

Getting guides or audio guides is highly recommended to understand the stories behind the architecture and make your visit to the Amer Fort worthwhile.

Following this, tourists will head for Panna Meena Ka Kund, a 16th-century grand well, where you can enjoy photo sessions and soak in the calm surroundings. 20-30 mins are ideal to explore this place.

For lunch, tourists will be taken to the famous LMB (Laxmi Mishtan Bhandar), Surya Mahal, or Handi Restaurant, all known for serving the authentic Rajasthani delicacies, including aromatic and flavorful Rajasthani kadi, dal baati, lal maas, pyaz kachori, and lassi.

Post lunch, tourists will head to Jaigarh Fort, well-known for housing the giant wheeled cannon and its surreal views of Amer. You can simply wander through the long corridors, armoury rooms, royal courtyards, and battlements.

After this, you will visit Nahargarh Fort during early evening (4 or 4.30 pm) to enjoy perfect sunset views over Jaipur and take some aesthetic photos.

JustWravel Tip: Relax at the Padao viewpoint café, watching the sky glow golden above the city.

With this, your Day 2 explorations will wrap. Tourists will be taken to famous rooftop restaurants like 1135 AD, Cinnamon, or Replay Jaipur for a blend of modern ambience and royal savory experience. And wait, tourists with an intense love for spices and street foods can head to Masala Chowk for Gol Gappe, samosa, chaat, kathi rolls, and kachori.

By 10 pm at the latest, you will return to your hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 3 in Rajasthan will start with a journey to Udaipur, also known as the “Venice of the East.” This gorgeous city is celebrated for its serene lakes, majestic palaces, and the glorious ancient traditions that run deeply.

As per the quick Udaipur itinerary of our 7 days in Rajasthan, tourists will begin their journey with a visit to Lake Pichola, a very calm and refreshing artificial freshwater lake surrounded by several ghats, palaces, and the dreamy Aravalli hills. Following this, tourists will head for the City Palace (Udaipur) to explore its captivating architecture overlooking the lake. A maximum of 2 hours will be allocated for this exploration, during which tourists can take their time admiring the vast courtyards, corridors, mirrored halls, balconies, vintage décor, and marblework.

The experts suggest not missing out on Palace highlights such as Mor Chowk (Peacock Courtyard), Sheesh Mahal, Amar Vilas, and Zenana Mahal. To add to these scenic explorations, tourists can even look out of the Palace’s windows to grab stunning views of Jag Mandir Palace and Lake Pichola.

Tourists yearning for sacred delight will be taken to the nearby Jagdish Temple, just a few minutes’ walk uphill from the palace. Tourists can seek divine blessings of Lord Vishnu and marvel at the temple’s intricately carved pillars, sculpted elephants, and devotional chants, which all create a perfectly serene ambiance.

By 12 noon, tourists will head to Bagore Ki Haveli at Gangaur Ghat, a must-visit for history enthusiasts, where they can explore royal household artefacts, traditional costumes, ancient puppets, and paintings. A visit to this Haveli reveals the daily life of the aristocracy back in the 18th century.

After this, tourists will be taken to Ambrai Ghat, where they can relax, soak in the serenity, and even enjoy photography of the City Palace, Lake Pichola, and views of the Aravalli hills. With this, tourists will head for a satisfying lunch at either Ambrai Restaurant, Upre, or Raas Leela, serving the best of delicacies.

After lunch, tourists will head back to their hotels for a quick, relaxing, and refreshing break. During the evening, at 4 or 4.30 pm, tourists will again head for Pichola Lake for the scenic sunset boat ride, which is also the most cherished experience.

After a boat ride, tourists can take a leisurely lakeside walk and even head to nearby Hathi Pol or Chandpole market to shop for silver jewellery, printed fabrics, and miniature paintings.

Please note: In our Rajasthan trip planning, we ensure we do not rush to provide a satisfying, paced journey.

With this, your Day 3 will wrap up with a tummy-satisfying dinner at Ambrai / Upre / Harigarh / 1559 AD, and a folk dance show at Bagore Ki Haveli around 7 or 8 pm (optional). Finally, after this, you will head to your hotel for an overnight stay.
