Mokokchung is a district located in the state of Nagaland. Home to Ao Naga tribe, the district has its headquarters located in the town of Mokokchung.

 On the north, the destination is surrounded by the state of Assam, while on the south lies Zunheboto. On the other hand, on the east, the place is bounded by Tuensang, while on the west lies Wokha. 

The main occupations of Nagas are agriculture and animal husbandry, owing to which the major festivals celebrated in the region are associated with sowing and harvesting.

Moatsu, celebrated in early May is one of the most popular festivals associated with sowing. On the other hand, the festival known as Tsungremmong is associated with harvesting, which is celebrated in month of August every year.

The best time to visit the destination is from October to March.
