Known as the city of lakes, Thane is a city in the state of Maharashtra in Konkan Division. Thane is a part of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. Known as 'Cacade De Tana', its original name is Sristhanaka, named after Lord Ganpati.
The most famous is the Masunda Lake, also known as Talao Pali.[1] It offers boating and water scooter facilities. On the lakefront stands the Gadkari Rangayatan, a drama theatre which is a very popular hub for entertainment.
