Chamba is an ancient town and a district in the Himalayan state of Himachal Pradesh.Historically, Chamba was ruled by the Maru Dynasty. It is named after a local princess, Champavati.
Chamba is a beautiful town situated on the banks of river Ravi. It is located at a distance of 45 kms from Dalhousie. Chamba is famous for it's arts and crafts. This town has many palaces and temples which were built as back as in 10th century. Just 40 Kms from Chamba lies a beautiful Chamera lake. You can enjoy boating there
Fairs like the Suhi Mata Mela and the Minjar Mela also attract lots of visitors every year.
