Jorethang is a major town in South Sikkim district in the Indian state of Sikkim. Jorethang lies on the Rangeet River, a tributary of the Teesta River, on the way to Pelling from Darjeeling, Siliguri and Kalimpong.
At its westernmost edge, Jorethang’s most striking feature is the Akar Suspension Bridge, 400m north of which are the passingly photogenic roadside Shiva niches of Sisne Mandir (Legship Rd).
The best time to visit the destination is from October to February.
