Roing is a picturesque town in Lower Dibang Valley by the side of the Dibang river and is also the district headquarters of the Lower Dibang Valley District, which is the youngest of the fifteen districts of the state. All basic amenities for the tourist are available here.
The valley's prime attractions , natural and archaelogical are nearby, and you can mostly visit them in a days trip or a couple of days at best. The Nehru Van Udyan, a beautiful forest park on the riverbank at Deopani has a well maintained garden and an orchidarium. That is must-see.Orange orchards against undulating landscape on the way from Roing to Bismaknagar, are a beautiful sight and it is pleasant to walk through the orchards. You can also see the Baily bridge on Deopani river and tribal villages of the Idu Mishmi community.
If you are going to Roing , you would come by road from Tinsukia via Dhola and Sadiya. You cross the mighty Brahmaputra while travelling from Tinsukia via Dhola Ghat/Sadiya Ghat to Roing. The distance of Roing from Tezu is about 100km. Buses ply regularly across the routes , as do private taxis.
At present, Roing is mostly inhabited by Adi-Padam and Idu-Mishmi tribes.
The best time to visit the destination is from October to March.
