Overview

India’s Golden Triangle is one of the most famous and popular tourist circuits which covers some of the most popular tourist cities of India starting with the national capital New Delhi, Agra and Jaipur. It is called the Golden Triangle tour as these cities form a triangular shape formed by these locations on a map.

The tour starts off from the national capital New Delhi. A visit to Old Delhi will open up your senses to the old world charm and the fragrance of unique Indian spices through narrow lanes. These famous lanes offer some of the most exotic and unique North Indian food which makes people line up for them. Some of them are Nataraj Cafe, Karim’s, Old famous Jalebi wala, Parathe wali gali to name a few. A visit to Red Fort is also on the cards which is a magnificent Indo-Islamic fort built with red sandstone in 1639 by then Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan. One of the finest examples of Mughal architecture in India is Jama Masjid, which is one of the largest mosques both in India and Asia. Experience the magnificence of it as you roam around its large courtyard and corridors with people offering prayers.

Visit to New Delhi will introduce you to the modern life of people in Northern India and their culture. Qutub Minar and Humayun’s tomb, both UNESCO’s World Heritage sites are some of the places which are really popular and will take you away from the hustle and bustle of Old Delhi.

Spend your evening at India Gate, which is a famous war memorial for the fallen Indian soldiers. The lights during the night adds to the charm of the place and it is also a famous picnic and hangout spot of the Delhites.

Agra is one of the best places to explore Mughal architecture most notably Taj Mahal, Fatehpur Sikri and Agra Fort which are all UNESCO’s World heritage sites. Taj Mahal is amongst the best wonders of the world and it draws people from all over the world. Words fall short to describe the beauty of the place, and it can be only experienced when you visit the place.

Ranthambore National Park is one of the biggest national parks of India. It is situated in vicinity of Aravali hills and highly reserved for the natural habitat to the significant number of bengal Tigers. This park is enclosed by Chambal river and Banas river. You will witness majestic tigers, ultimate species of animals, birds and captivating greenery. You will also visit Ranthambore Fort which is located inside the Ranthambore National Park. This fort is declared as a UNESCO world heritage site due to its historical significance. There are many interesting varieties of animals that one can see here and experience them living free in the wild, the main one being the Royal Bengal Tiger. Other animals include some large mammals such as Indian leopard, striped hyenas, golden jackal, sambar deers, wild boars, mongooses, langurs, honey badgers to name a few.

Jaipur is the capital city of Rajasthan. It is also known as the “Pink City” as almost all of the buildings and architecture adorn pink color on their walls. Jaipur also serves as a gateway to other famous places in Rajasthan such as Udaipur, Jaisalmer and Mount Abu.

Hawa Mahal is a beautiful palace which is made up of red and pink sandstone which gives it a really impressive look. Jal Mahal on the other hand is a palace in the middle of Man Sagar Lake. It is a brilliant example of Rajput Style of architecture and makes up for a really unique location in the world. Jantar Mantar is a collection of nineteen astronomical instruments in the shape of architecture. It has the world’s largest sundial and is also a UNESCO world heritage site. The structure was built in the 19th century.

Local markets of Jaipur are a delight to shop at. These markets offer authentic and local souvenirs, clothes and world famous textiles and many places to eat at. These markets come to life during night time which makes up for a really splendid experience.
