The subdivisional headquarters or capital of this valley is Kaza, which is situated near the Spiti River at an elevation of around 3,800 meters. There are two routes by which one can reach Spiti, which are from Manali via Rohtang and Kunzum Pass and from Shimla via Hindustan Tibet highway, which is often considered one of the most treacherous road.

The road trip to Spiti Valley starts from the capital of Himachal Pradesh, Shimla. Your road trip begins as you leave Shimla. The first day destination that you have to reach is Sarahan. Sarahan is a small village famous for Bhimkali temple. The distance between Shimla and Sarahan is 170 km.

Wake up and get ready for your second day road trip to Kalpa. Kalpa is a small but beautiful town situated in the Sutlej river valley in the Kinnaur district. Kalpa Is 101 km from Sarahan. While riding the bike, you will cross some of the points with scenic views. After reaching, explore the place.
Dinner and overnight stay in hotel/homestay at Kalpa.
On the third day of the tour, you will be riding towards Nako. Nako is 100 km from Kalpa. It is a small village lies near the border and India and Tibet. The place is famous for a lake and monastery. While riding, you will also get to see the confluence of rivers Spiti and Sutlej. Enroute Tabo and explore 1000 years old monastery. Dinner and overnight stay at Nako.
Today, you will be moving towards Dhankar village. Dhankar, the former capital of the Spiti Valley, offers panoramic views of valley. It stands perched above the confluence of the Spiti and Pin river. Explore Dhankar lake and dinner and overnight stay at Dhankar village.
This day you will be riding through the Pin Valley National Park, which is one of the popular national parks in Himachal Pradesh and is popular for animals such as Snow Leopard, Ibex, etc. Reach Mud and relax.

Wake up and ride your motorbike towards the world’s highest inhabited village, Komik. Enroute we will be crossing Kaza which is a main town in Spiti region. Ride upto this village while exploring other destinations on the way. Dinner and overnight stay in Homestay at Komik.
This day ride your bike towards Kaza and Kibber village. Visit the beautiful Key Monastery. Explore the amazing culture of the people living there. Dinner and overnight stay at Kibber/Kaza.
Head towards one of the most scenic lakes in India, i.e., Chandra tal also called as Moon Lake. The lake is beautiful, surrounded by mountains and is situated at an altitude of 4300 meters. Enjoy the views. Get yourself clicked with the lake. Dinner and overnight stay in camps at Chandra Taal.
This will be your last day of this epic road trip. You will cross two high mountain passes such as Kunzum Pass (4590 m) and Rohtang Pass (3978 m). Kunzum Pass differentiates Lahaul Valley from Spiti Valley while Rohtang Pass differentiates Kullu Valley from Lahaul & Spiti Valley. Reach Manali by late afternoon.
