This town is often overlooked for most of the popular places in Karnataka, but this town does have its own charm. There are several small mangrove covered islands where you can go off to by a boat and explore the wilderness. The route is really picturesque and will keep you mesmerized. There is the famous Rabindranath Tagore beach, which is quite famous after this beach got a mention in his memoirs. You can also visit the warship museum which is maintained and run by the Indian Navy which houses quite a few memorabilia and artifacts related to the Indian Navy.
