Description

The land of history, culture, stories and legends, Madhya Pradesh has it all. The second largest state of India is rich in its culture, tradition and history and the origins of the state can be traced back to 500,000 years back. There are various avenues to explore in Madhya Pradesh for every type of traveller, be it for art, history lovers or adventure seekers.

We start our 3 nights 4 days Kanha National Park Tour from the city of Jabalpur. Jabalpur is one of the most important cities of Madhya Pradesh and is also known as the ‘City of Rocks’ due to granite boulders and other huge boulders which are common throughout the city. There are some famous trekking sites and national parks which are accessible from the city of Jabalpur. While you are in Jabalpur, don’t miss out on the local markets and delicacies while you go out for a stroll in the evening.

Kanha Tiger Reserve or Kanha National Park is one of the largest national parks in the state of Madhya Pradesh. It is spread over 940km² in area. It has a significant population of royal Bengal tigers, Indian leopards, sloth bears, barasinghas and Indian wild dogs. The forest depicted in The Jungle Book, a novel by Rudyard Kipling is based on jungles including this reserve. It is also the first tiger reserve in India to officially introduce a mascot, Bhoorsingh the Barasingha (a swamp deer).

The best time to visit for the tourists is during the winter (October to March) and monsoon period (July to September) season as the temperature remains pleasant through the day.
