Waking up to encounter the swanky yet ancient city, Baku
After breakfast we move to the magnificent Walled city of Baku or the old city of Baku
The Walled City of Baku represents an outstanding and rare example of an historic urban ensemble and architecture with influence from Zoroastrian, Sassanian, Arabic, Persian, Shirvani, Ottoman, and Russian cultures.
Within the walls of the inner city is the Maiden Tower. Of the eight stories of the tower the first three are believed to date back to the 7th or 6th century BC and were used as a fire temple, according to the latest research by UNESCO. If true, this could be the largest Zoroastrian temple in the world.

Then after that we move to visit, The Palace of Shirvans – Shirvanshakh Sarayi – is a remarkable example of medieval architecture in Azerbaijan that dates back to the middle of the 15th century.
The Old city consists of many house-museums of famous cultural figures, the house of the ceramics museum Mir Teymur Mammadov, the house of the famous artist Ali Shamsi, as well as souvenir shops and restaurants with traditional national cuisine

Arguably one of the coolest things about Baku is its neighboring Caspian Sea, which isn't really a sea but the largest saltwater lake in the world. It is suggested to enjoy the view of the entire Baku city beside the Caspian Sea from the Upland Park viewpoint and stay a bit longer to attend the light show which takes place daily at 8:30 PM.

3rd Day : Mud Volcanoes and Lots of Fire

On your third day in Baku, we shall step out of the city a bit to experience some of the weirdest yet the most beautiful sights around.

Visiting the The Mud Volcanoes (16 kms from the city)

Baku is one of the very few places in the world that has mud volcanoes, which in itself is a rare phenomenon. These are naturally formed bubbly mud pots that look like mini volcanoes dotted across a flat area of dirt.
Further, Continuing to visit Yanar dag (13 kms from mud volcanoes)

A fire blazes continuously from natural gas deposits in the hillside. It is said to be that flames have been burning on this peninsula since the 13th Century (65 years).
These fires gave Azerbaijan the moniker “Land of Fire.”

Visit to Ateshgah Fire Temple(22 kms from Yanar dag)
The Ateshgah temple was considered sacred by fire worshipping Zoroastrians and Hindu pilgrims who travelled there to worship. The temple was built to incorporate the “seven holes with burning flame” and contained cells for monks and a central altar to worship the “element of fire”.
