You can’t mention Kazakhstan without talking about the many natural sights around the country. There are several great destinations like Medeu, the rink nestled in a mountain valley. Saryarka, in the northern steppes, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Migratory birds and other endangered species, such as the Saiga antelope, live in these untouched steppes and wetlands, some of the most pristine and important in the world. And Alakol Lake, in eastern Kazakhstan, is a famous nature reserve with opportunities for hiking and relaxing. There are so many options of things to do out in nature in Kazakhstan, from hiking through the mountains to spending a night in a yurt out in the broad steppes - it’s all up to you.

It is said that apples were first grown in south east Kazakhstan from where it spread around the world, never miss a chance to taste the origin.

    1st Day : Arrival at Nur-Sultan (Astana)

    2nd Day : Nur Sultan City Tour

    Your day begins with visiting The Ascension Cathedral, also known as Zenkov Cathedral, a Russian Orthodox cathedral located in Panfilov Park.

    The Park of 28 Panfilov Guardsmen is dedicated to and named after the Panfilov heroes which were the 28 soldiers of an Almaty infantry unit who died while defending Moscow from the German invasion during theGreat Patriotic War.

    There are many museums in the area, like the Kazakhstan Museum of Musical Instruments or the Central State Museum.

    In the early evening, head to Kok-Tobe by cable car for sweeping views of the city and some prime people-watching activities.

    3rd Day : Shymkent

    You’ll then set out to explore the Aksu canyon in the Sairam Ugam National Park, known as the “Valley of a Thousand Eyes” due to a set of caves resembling rocky peepers. 

    Enjoy hiking, fishing and lunch before returning to Shymkent to visit an underground mosque and take a ceramic master class.

    4th Day : Shymkent

    After an early breakfast in Shymkent, you will visit Kazygurt Holy Mount – located in the western ridge of the UNESCO-designated Tien Shan mountains and said to be the place where Noah’s ark came to rest. 

    In the afternoon, you will head back to Shymkent and explore its underground mosque and local pottery workshop before exploring the Aksu canyon in the nearby Sairam Ugam National Park.

    5th Day : Turkestan

    Today, you will transfer to the city of Turkestan (around 3 hours) – literally meaning “city of Turks.”

     Along the way, you will visit a museum in the village of Shaulder, explore the ruins of Otrar, and the mausoleum of Arystan-bab, a popular Muslim pilgrimage destination. 

    After settling in at your hotel in Turkestan, you will spend the afternoon exploring the ancient city of Sauron, about 25 miles/30 minutes from Turkestan, and return for dinner

    6th Day : Aksu-Zhabagly Nature Reserve

    Head out early to visit the ancient site of Suzak, along with several mausoleums on the way. 

    You will transfer to the Aksu-Zhabagly Nature Reserve(4 hours of drive), the oldest nature reserve in Central Asia, located at the foothills of the Tien Shan mountains.

    7th Day : Aksu-Zhabagly Nature Reserve

    Explore the beautiful mountain refuges, waterfalls and fields of the Aksu-Zhabagly Nature Reserve. 

    exploring the Talde Bylak – Kazanchy Kyr Natural boundary, the shore of river Zhabagly, and the local Museum of Nature.

    Head back to your guesthouse for dinner and a sound night’s sleep.

    8th Day : Almaty

    Transfer to Shimket to catch a flight to Almaty.

     After settling in at your hotel you will adjoin the city tour of Almaty

    visiting sites the Central Square and Monument of Independence, the Central Historical Museum, the central mosque, and the Medeo skating rink, located at a high altitude with a stunning view of the surrounding city and mountains.

    9th Day : Almaty

    You shall be on the map of  golden triangle of Kazakhstan

    The main attractions charyn canyon, kolsai lake and kaindy lake

    Overnight stay at Kaindy lake (camping at a prime spot by the lakeside)

    10th Day : Almaty

    Today, you’ll head 17 miles south of Almaty to Big Almaty Lake, a stunning mountain lake, in the gorge of the Bolshaya Almatinka River, visit the falcon farm for its “Golden Eagle show.” 

    Finally, you’ll head back to Almaty for dinner, where you’ll spend your final night in Kazakhstan.

    11th Day : Departure

    Today is the final day of your tour to Kazakhstan. 

    You’ll be transferred to the airport, from where you may be heading home.

Incase of government orders, harsh weather conditions , protests , landslides or any other unforseen circumstances , we work out the best possible alternate plans or trips/treks. At times even even certain activities are cancelled , the organization provides the best alternate but no refunds are provided.

 If a trek is called off at the last moment due to a natural calamity/unforeseen circumstances (like rain, snowfall, earthquake, landslides, strike, bandh etc.), JustWravel will issue a trek voucher for the full amount and if possible will provide an alternate trek. The voucher can be redeemed upto same amount for the same trek or another trek in the next 365 days from the trek departure date.

 If a trek or trip cannot be completed due to natural calamity/unforeseen circumstances (like rain, snowfall, earthquake, landslides, strike, bandh etc.). No refund would be provided.
